HOW YOU WILL LEARN

Whilstontheprogrammeyouwillbegiventheopportunitytolearnviaanumberofpracticalexperiencessuchas:

• Workshops Eachyearyouwillattendanumberofworkshops.Eachworkshopisdesignedtogiveyouaspecificelementoflearning.Theywillberelaxedandveryinteractivetoensurethatyoufeelcomfortableandareabletogiveyourbestontheday.

• On the Job Themajorityofyourlearningwillcomeviaonthejobactivitiesthatyouwillexperienceandactivelyparticipateinduringyourtimeonprojects.DuringyourtimeontheExcelerateProgrammeyouwillhavetheopportunitytoworkonawidevarietyofprojectsthatspanallofourbusinessunits.

Eachplacementwillvaryinlengthdependingontheobjectiveofthatparticularplacement;itcouldbeaslittleas3monthsoraslongas12.

• Building your Experience Youwillbuildyourexperiencestartingwiththebasicsandasyoumoveonthroughthecourseofthe4years,youwilltakeresponsibilityforapartofaprojectorevenawholeproject.YourexperienceisbrokendownintoDevelopmentObjectivesandallofyourexperiencewillneedtobeevidencedwithreportsandphotographs.

• Online Learning Partofyourlearningwillbeviaonlinemodulesthroughourinternalsystem.Thesearestructuredasshortknowledgedownloadsessionslastingbetween3and5minutes.

SUPPORT EVERY STEP OF THE WAY

YouwillbeassignedaMentorwhowillbededicatedtoyourdevelopmentforthedurationofthe4yearprogramme.ThepurposeoftheMentoringrelationshipistoprovideyouwithprofessionalandpersonalsupport,sothatyourdevelopmentisassuccessfulasitpossiblycanbe.

TRACKING YOUR PROGRESS

Itisimportantthatweandyouareabletoclearlytrackyourprogressasyoumovethroughtheprogramme.Weneedtobeconfidentthatyouareprogressingattherequiredrateandarecoveringallofthegroundthatyouneedto,inordertobuildyourexperience.Youneedtobeconfidentthatwhatyouaredoingisrightandregularlyreceivefeedbacktohelpyoutoprogress.

• 4 Monthly Report Every4monthsyouwillproduceacomprehensivereportthatcoversallofyourlearninginthatperiod.Thereportwillneedtobesupplementedbydocumentaryandphotographicevidence.Yourreportwillbemarkedbyyourmentorandyouwillreceivefeedback.

• Daily Diary Youmustalsocompleteyourowndailydiaryrecordingyourprogressandexperienceonsite,aswellasanydetailsconcerningthedaytodayprogressoftheprojectthatyouareon.

•YouwillhaverecentlygraduatedoraresoontograduatewithagoodCivilEngineering,ConstructionManagement,BuildingServicesorCommercial/QuantitySurveyingdegree.

•Giventhatyouwillcompleteaseriesofplacementsacrossthebusiness,toensurethatyoudevelopabroadrangeofskillsandexperience,itisessentialthatyouaregeographicallymobileacrossourdomesticmarket(England,Ireland,NorthernIreland,ScotlandandWales).
