Wall Art Australia and Cushions Online Australia

In Australia, wall art is an important part of the home décor to add personality, visual interest, and character. It’s also a talking point with family and friends. Gone is the day when wall art had to be expensive, and the only option was to buy an original painting for thousands of dollars, or a cheap poster. There are now many online stores selling wall art at affordable prices.

The options have increased too. You are no longer limited to posters and paintings. There are screenprints, or limited edition prints which guarantee a certain number, making them more unique and desirable. Limited editions can come in a range of numbers from 2 up to 200 - the lower the number, the more unique the print. Australian online store Yellow Front Door has some interesting limited edition prints by Emma Lawrenson and James Gulliver Hancock. Lawrenson is from the UK and has held exhibitions all over the world and won several awards. Her prints are fresh and vibrant and would cheer up any wall. Hancock is from Australia but spends half his time in New York when he is aim to draw all the buildings in New York. His illustrations are fun, quirky, and black and white. Yellow Front Door did an interview with Hancock recently to gain insights into his work and philosophies which you can read here: http://www.yellowfrontdoor.com.au/james-gulliver-hancock-interview/Wall sculptures are also becoming popular now, and can be in 3D or 2D. Yellow Front Door has a wonderful 2D black wall sculpture made from 2mm black cardboard. It’s by Danish artist Kristina Dam and looks stunning when teamed with other black and white prints on the wall. Kristina’s work centres around wood, cardboard, paper and cloth. Check out her architectural drawings Stair House and Simple House too.

The range from Yellow Front Door is very affordable and they specialise in modern, geometric patterns, stripes, chevrons, and designs from nature. The range from Sian Elin can be mixed and matched as they are Moorish, geometric designs in similar colours. The designs from Tu Textiles seek inspiration from nature, architecture and ancient Chinese symbols and are printed onto organic cotton with a piped edge.
