The pattern cloud supports the concept of pattern making systems:

• Define a subset of the Seamly2D measurement types and define aliases, and ordering for these

as used by the pattern making system

• Associate a Book with a pattern making system

• Share basic blocks to get you started

• Enter measurements for an individual

• Create a template .VIT file for those measurement types.

Using a pattern making system You can use a pattern making system as a template when entering the measurements for an individual.

Then enter some of all of the measurement for this system.

You can choose to use either the Seamly measurement names, or the original names from the pattern making system.

Pattern Making System Details Navigate to the details for a Pattern Making System using the links from the comparison page or from Design… Pattern making systems.

This shows:

• the measurements for the system including the names used within the pattern making system

• an attribution to the source book

• a list of patterns that have been shared that attribute the book. These can show thumbnail

images for the blocks that they define. You can download the .VAL and .VIT files for these from this page.
