STAFF SERGEANT, U.S. ARMY Fort Carson, CO Special Forces Engineer Dec 2010 – Jan 2015 Deployed to the U.S. Embassy Khartoum, Sudan for 10 months as a member of a two-man Special Forces team tasked with establishing infrastructure necessary to facilitate future covert operations while providing over 75 critical information reports impacting United States security goals. Led United States Embassy staff, 12 Marines, and 90 Host Nation Guards in the defense of the U.S. Embassy Khartoum compound during a 7-hour siege that occurred on September 14 th , 2012. This defense resulted in the evacuation of 40 United States Government Personnel without incident. Deployed to Kenya for 6 months. Responsible for training 100 soldiers assigned to the Kenyan Ranger Regiment on small unit tactics and combat skills increasing their effectiveness in combatting local terrorism. Developed and implemented an 8-week tactical training course that certified 100 Kenyan Rangers on basic close quarters combat skills. Served as Senior Engineer Sergeant responsible for the training and advising of Junior Non-Commissioned Officers as well as the accountability of sensitive equipment worth nearly one million dollars. Managed in excess of $300,000 in operational funding required to conduct missions both domestically and abroad with zero accounting deficits accrued. Military coursework includes Advanced Special Operations Courses, Joint Terminal Attack Controller Course, Peace Time Apprehension School, and the Gryphon Group Tactical Driving Course. JOHN F. KENNEDY SPECIAL WARFARE CENTER Special Forces Training Program Fort Bragg, NC Jan 2009 – Dec 2010 Upon completion of U.S. Army Infantry Basic Training and Airborne School, successfully attended Special Forces Assessment and Selection. Completed arduous two-year course to earn the coveted “Green Beret.” Training included small unit tactics, Russian language training, engineering and demolitions, as well as the Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape (“SERE”) school. Participated in culmination exercise Robin Sage as the detachment Team Sergeant responsible for leading operations and mission control, and the safety of 16 American Special Forces soldiers and 20 “host nation” soldiers. Graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course with honors and Commandant’s List recognition as a member of the top 10% of graduating soldiers. ADDITIONAL Volunteered in multiple capacities, most recently landscaping for elderly members of the local Senior Independent Living Center. Organized a charity raffle that raised nearly $2,000 for families of fallen Special Operations soldiers. Enjoy travelling in off time. Past locations include trips to Stockholm, Sweden; Germany and surrounding European countries; as well a month-long hiking/camping trip from Colorado to California and up through the Pacific Northwest.
