At the end of January 2015, Consumer Confidence in Australia reached 113.2 points, just above the long run average.

Domestic Travel through Perth Airport

The number of passengers travelling on intrastate flights in and out of Perth Airport in December 2014 was significantly

greater than the same month in 2013, with an increase of (+) 10.5%. Meanwhile, interstate passenger numbers were

relatively consistent.

From 2013 to 2014 intrastate passenger numbers increased by (+) 2.7%, while interstate passenger numbers declined by

(-) 1.0%. 2014 was the first year in over ten years that interstate passenger numbers through Perth Airport declined.

International Travel through Perth Airport

The number of international arrivals into Perth Airport in December 2014 was slightly greater than in December 2013

(+0.9%).

For the whole of 2014, there were just under one million foreign national arrivals into Perth Airport, representing growth of

(+) 6.1% from 2013. The total number of foreign national PAX in 2014 was (+) 6.4% greater than in 2013.

Foreign National Arrivals - Long Haul (Asia)

Arrivals from China continue to grow significantly. In 2014, Perth Airport received over 45,000 arrivals travelling on Chinese

passports, representing growth of (+) 12.6% from 2013.

Arrivals from Korea grew (+) 6.9% in 2014, while the number of arrivals from Japan was relatively consistent with 2013.

Foreign National Arrivals - Long Haul (Europe & USA)

There were significantly less arrivals from the UK into Perth Airport in December 2014 compared to December 2013, with a

decline of (-) 9.2%. For the first time since 2010, the number of UK arrivals declined year on year, down from approx.

194,800 in 2013 to approx. 189,700 in 2014.

Alternative to the UK market, arrivals from the other key Western long haul markets of Germany and the USA grew in 2014,

with year on year growth of (+) 9.6% and (+) 4.7% respectively.

Foreign National Arrivals - Short Haul

New Zealand arrivals into Perth Airport in December 2014 were a moderate (+) 2.2% greater than the same month last year.

The number of New Zealand arrivals continue to grow year on year, increasing by (+) 8.1% from 2013 to 2014.

Arrivals from Malaysia grew significantly in 2014 from 2013, increasing (+) 14.5%.

The number of arrivals from Singapore in December 2014 was (-) 8.9% lower than in December 2013. However, total

arrivals from Singapore in 2014 reached approx. 82,300, up a significant (+) 24.7% from 2013.

Total China PAX in and out of Perth Airport grew a significant (+) 12.9% in 2014 from 2013.

Total Japan and Korea PAX also grew, increasing (+) 3.0% and (+) 8.9% respectively.

Foreign National Travel – Long Haul (Europe & USA)

For the first time since 2009, total UK PAX in and out of Perth Airport decreased year on year, dropping (-) 1.5% from 2013

to 2014.

PAX for the Germany market grew significantly, up (+) 8.8% from 2013 to 2014, while USA PAX also increased over the

same time period (+4.6%).

Foreign National Travel – Short Haul

PAX to/from Perth Airport for the Singapore market was (-) 10.0% lower in December 2014 compared to December 2013.

Despite this, overall performance in 2014 was strong, with total Singapore PAX increasing by a quarter (+24.6%) from 2013

to 2014.

The New Zealand and Malaysia markets also saw strong growth in PAX from 2013 to 2014, increasing by (+) 7.9% and

(+) 14.8% respectively.

WA vs. Australia - Foreign National Arrivals (Monthly Data - % Change September 2013 to September 2014)

The number of foreign national arrivals to WA in September 2014 compared to September 2013 was up (+) 7%, just ahead

of the national result of (+) 6%.

WA significantly outperformed the national average in percentage growth from Singapore and Germany, although WA saw a

decline in arrivals from UK and USA while nationally arrivals from these key markets increased.

WA vs. Australia - Foreign National Arrivals (Year to Date Data - % Change Jan-September 2013 to Jan-September 2014)

Growth in foreign national arrivals to WA for YTD September 2014 is just behind the national average (7% growth for WA,

9% growth for Australia).

WA is significantly outperforming Australia in growth from Singapore, New Zealand, and Korea, but is behind the national

average of growth from China, Malaysia, Germany, and the USA.

Perth Accommodation – Occupancy Rates (December 2014)

The occupancy rate in December 2014 in Perth CBD was 76.4%, (-) 5.9% lower than the same month the year prior.

Average occupancy in Perth CBD across 2014 was 85.6%, just above the average of 2013 (85.2%).

Perth Accommodation – Yield (December 2014)

In December 2014, the ADR of Perth CBD hotels was (-) 7.9% lower than in December 2013, while RevPAR was (-) 13.3%

lower.

Both ADR and RevPAR dropped in 2014 compared to 2013. The ADR in 2014 was $210.00, $11.10 lower than the ADR in

2013. Average RevPar across 2014 was $179.90, $8.50 lower than the average RevPAR across 2013.
