Academic planner
Choosing Electives Keep in mind that you will need:
one Arts credit to graduate (ex. Visual Art, Drama, Music, Guitar, Media Art, Photography)
one Physical Education credit to graduate
If you did not choose these courses in grade 9 you may want to consider taking them in Grade 1o.
Summer School (July)• 4 week courses are offered:
➢ For repeating an unsuccessful course (less than 40%)
➢ For earning a reach ahead course (such as Grade 10, Math, Science, English, History, or Canadian and World Studies)
• Registration forms will be available in Student Services between April/May. Listen to announcements for details, check your Twitter, and synermail from the school or mySchoolDay App for notifications.
Summer School (continued):
If you plan on taking either CHV2OE/GLC2OE or CHC2D1
in Summer school, you must still select these compulsory
courses in myBlueprint. Once you are registered for
summer school (April), see your guidance counsellor to have
it removed and a third elective added to your planner
provided there is space.
E-Learning during the school year:
If you plan on selecting an e-learning course, you can
choose from the Elearning tab in myBlueprint. A drop down
menu will appear and you can choose a course. You will
need to complete an additional paper registration with your
guidance counsellor.

Go to http://www.myblueprint.ca/hcdsb and login.
Use your email address and password to log in.
Click on the``High School” link.
This message indicates that your course selections have
not been submitted.
Enter your courses for
the appropriate
grade!

To select a course, click on the text.
Select the course you wish to take.
Read the course description and check to make sure that you have the
prerequisite.
Click on the ``Add Course`` button to select the course.
Once you have selected all of your courses
and 2 alternates, you
should have something like

Once you have completed your course selections, click on the ``Review Course
Selections`` button
Ensure that there are “No Issues”
with your course selections.
If there are no issues, you may click on “Submit
Course Selections”
Click on the ``Print Sign-Off Sheet`` button.

A message on the main page indicates that course selection has
been completed.
Important dates: February 10th – myBlueprint will be live and students can begin to submit their course selections. February 27th myBlueprint will be shut down for course submissions. February 26th – February 28thth : Submission of Course Selection to P.1 Teachers
Note:Students will not get equal consideration for elective courses if they are late. Late means after February 28th, 2020.
Submit the following to your period 1 teacher:
1. Course Selection Sign Off Sheet (will print from myBlueprint when courses are submitted)
2. Consent Form ( will print from myBlueprint when courses are submitted)
3. Write Receipt # of payment for Student Activity Fee ($65.00 School Cash Online) at the top of the Course

April
Students will receive a Course Verification and Student Information Sheet in their period 1 class. It will list the courses that they chose for the 2020/21 school year. Students will be able to make course selection changes at that time without penalty if they wish by returning the completed form to Student Services, as long as they submitted their Course Selection on time. You will also be able to update your contact information at this time.
MayCourse selections finalized.
Need a Guidance Appointment? If you have questions or concerns about which courses
to select, please make an appointment to see your guidance counsellor.
If your request for an appointment cannot be accommodated before the submission deadline, that is okay. Submit your courses by the deadline and changes can be made, if needed, by your counsellor later on.
