Abstract: Over 81% of the human capacity in the Catholic Charities network comes from
volunteers. This institute further develops the volunteer management competency of Catholic
Charities to create volunteer opportunities that positively impact clients, volunteers and the
agency. By investing in volunteer management, agencies serve more clients, provideopportunity to live out the Christian call to serve and invite people of good will to reduce
poverty in America.

From preparing staff to preparing the volunteer this workshop provides
a comprehensive overview of engaging volunteers. With a mission
focused volunteer program, leadership commitment and a trained,
prepared staff the foundation for a positive volunteer experience is
built.

Abstract

Sandy Buck spent a year researching and acquiring a volunteer
management system. Using her experience as a case study Sandy will
provide insights and strategies for agencies looking to invest in a system
to manage volunteers. Once the system is developed, Tony Guse will
show how CC Milwaukee leverages volunteer data to procure grantfunding and to tell the story of the agency programs.
