Friends of Goodwill,
Seven men from the downtown Corpus Christi Lion’s Club founded Goodwill Industries of South Texas. What started out as one store, donation station and job training program forpeople with physical disabilities in Corpus Christi is now sixteen stores with an online presence at shopgoodwill.com, twelve donation stations, four learning centers, two warehouse distributioncenters and service contracts in twenty counties in South Texas. Through your generosity, ourefforts helped over five thousand people last year alone.
At Goodwill, we believe that having a job is the best social program and the cornerstone of a person’s life. Everything we do at Goodwill is designed to train and employ the people served at Goodwill. The cycle starts when you donate to Goodwill. Your donations of clothes and household items are sorted and then sold in our stores. The revenue generated from the sale of donations helps support the job training programs at Goodwill. Additionally, because those items weredonated, they were diverted from area landfills, which is good for the environment. Most of all, the positive impact Goodwill creates is giving hope and second chances to the thousands people served through Goodwill programs, including Thomas and Nora who illustrate the mission ofGoodwill. We hope you will view and share their stories with your friends.
