Little SIR Message: How about the beautiful rain we had … 2½ inches at my home on Hagen Rd.! Also, the ten to fifteen feet of snow for our watershed in the Sierra’s. I grow up on a farm in South Dakota where rain is so important. So when you get this important stuff, it’s a rush!!! Speaking of rushes, I went on the last fishing trip organized by Lee Mitchell and

Bill Hogberg. We went for Sturgeon and Stripped Bass in the San Pablo Bay. I caught my first Sturgeon, which turned out to be the biggest on the boat and the only keeper - 54 inches long and when we weighted it the 50 lbs. scale broke! I think 60 to 80 lbs!!!!!!!! P.S. Next trip March 13th … Call Lee Mitchell! Our March speaker is Barry Biermann. He is the son of one of our past SIR members, Barry Biermann Sr. He is also the Napa County Fire Chief. Barry will share with us the challenges of dealing with a devastating fire like we had in October. Looking ahead to our Ladies Day Picnic on July 10th, the wheels are in motion! If there is something you would like to help with for the picnic, please let me know. We can always use the help! A special thanks to those that have helped me with our monthly speakers. I appreciate it very much! Carl Hammond, Little Sir

Bocce with SIR Mike Murrell: Thursday is BOCCE Day for SIRS on the Bocce Pavilion at the Napa Senior Center. All skill levels are welcomed. We play for fun, not for money or bragging rights (well maybe bragging rights) … just some good old-fashion camaraderie and fellowship with your fellow SIRS. We start sometime between 9:30-10 AM (it really depends on when people arrive) and go until about noon (again depends on when people leave). If you don’t know what Bocce is, plan to come on down and find out. Bocce is an easy game to learn, takes very little effort and you will get to know many of your fellow SIRS in a whole new light.

For more information, please contact SIR Mike Murrell at [email protected] or you can call or text to 707-666-5810.

At every monthly lunch, in the back of the room we have sign-up sheets for usually the next two golf outings and encourage all SIRS members who enjoy the game of golf to come out and play with us. The goal is to have lots of fun, make new friends with other SIRS brothers, share a lot of golf stories and not take ourselves too seriously. I want to personally invite all new SIRS members who recently joined 149 and indicated that they like to play golf to sign up for one of our upcoming golf events. If you do not have an official NCGA handicap index that is not a problem. We can help you get one and get on the SIRS 149 Golf Register. Respectively Submitted By, Peter Dreier, Chairperson, Golf Club

9 Hole Golf with SIR Mike Murrell: Wednesday is golf day for SIRS. Consider it a middle of the week meditation ritual to calm your mind and banish all frustrations you may have gained over the time since our last golf outing. We play 9-Holes at scenic Vintner’s Golf Club in restaurant haven Yountville. Tee times start at 9 AM and we tee off on the first hole. Green fees are your responsibility and there is a $3 entry fee for our voluntary closest to the pin contests on two of the three par 3’s. So if you would like to relax, or just take your frustrations out on a little white or

yellow or pink sphere please email me at [email protected] for more details or to let me know “U-R-N”.

Romeo/Dining Out with Ron Wilson: We had 31 Romeos enjoy the meal at Trancas Steakhouse in February. The consensus was “great meal, great service, and a darn good time”! Come out and enjoy the Romeo dinner at Frida’s on Tuesday, March 20th at 6:00 for only $25 each. Find me at the back of the room before lunch Tuesday or mail a check made out to Sirs #149 to: Ron Wilson P.O. Box 187, Napa, CA 94559. I need to receive the check by March 16 or you will need to show up with cash. I still need to know you are coming so I can give the

restaurant a head count. Call or text Ron Wilson at 360-880-2652 or e-mail him at  [email protected]

Roving Roosters with SIRs Bill Hester & Dave San Filippo: There are no trips planned for the next several months during winter and early spring. For more information on future trips, please contact SIR Dave San Filippo at 707-255-3482.

Theater with SIR Bob Benning: By the time you get this newsletter, the Vintage High production of Les Mis will be history for SIR 149. I think you will not have to go far to get some great feedback. March 18th will be "Sister Act" at the Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center. Eighty five hand picked premium seats will be warmed by our group. Future events are at various stages and include: 1. Lucky Penny - April 26th "The Miss Fire Cracker Contest" We will have the entire theater and my marketing/graphics department (Adrian

Fenderson) will turn his attention to producing his usual award winning advertising poster. Stay tuned!2. Up Stage - Napa Valley is planning "Clever Little Lies" to be released in Spring 2018 at a St. Helena venue. We are in the negotiation phase at this time. What do Greg Gatto, Bill Hogberg, and Dave Dennis have in common? All of them forgot to tell their wives about Les Mis. After the wives approached me as to why I had not sent out information, I shared the painful truth with them. As a result I have formed a new award that I will be presenting (in print) each month as this group grows in size. As of this moment, these three SIR are charter members in the EUNUCHS CLUB OF Branch 149. Do Not Let This Happen To You!!! Keep your wives informed about our theatrical events, or you can sing Countertenor in the Vintage High Vocal Workshop. (google it if you do not know)! For more information contact Bob at 337-2614.
