Many parents hear about sex trafficking for the first time after the crime has already infiltrated
their "protective bubble". Suddenly tossed into a world of organized crime, parents desperately try
to navigate countless resources, while under extreme duress.
Inspired by the tragic events of one all-American family, the Family Guides Program was designed
to quickly steer parents through the maze of resources that we know they will need immediately
as well as in the months and years following the crisis.
This first-in-nation program matches these families in crisis with a trained and vetted Family Guide
who will serve as the point of contact when the child is missing and deemed a victim of trafficking.
The Family Guides will help parents navigate the traumatic and fast-paced process with law en-
forcement, social media, schools, local and statewide resources. The priority role of the Family
Guides is to provide immediate and accurate information that will enable parents to make in-
formed decisions to significantly increase the probability of a successful outcome for the victim and
family.
Our Family Guides Program has partners and vetted resources across the country to aid these
families. These resources are included in the red box above.
The Family Guides program is free to families in need. All funding comes through individuals, corporations and foundations. The majority of our vetted resources are free to our families. A few resources may have a fee, accept insurance or charge on a sliding scale.

“As program director, I have never received
such positive responses from attendees as I
did following the Childproof America presen-
tation. Some were experiencing situations in
their lives and now felt they were better
equipped to recognize warning signs. I doubt
many or any of us knew how prevalent this
problem is and that any one can become a
victim. People felt hopeful knowing if a situa-
tion arose, they were not alone—resources
are out there. “-Evelyn “One of the most jaw dropping and eye opening presentations I
have attended. You had me at the edge of my seat the entire
time. The statistics are frightening and the methods of groom-
ing victims is startling. I'm so glad Childproof America is work-
ing at educating and developing new programs to combat sex
trafficking.” - Celina
