Started in 2008, the Department of Information Science & Engineering offers graduate

program with an intake of 60. The department has well-qualified and dedicated teaching and non

-teaching staff and well-equipped laboratories to fulfill the academic needs to provide quality

The newsletter “IRIS” from the Dept. of ISE brings its readers all

happenings in the department–showcasing it‟s activities and

achievements. The contributions of the faculty, staff and the

Industrial Visit

An effort to bridge the gap between college and

Industries:- a visit to Unilog Content Solutions Pvt.

Ltd, Mysore for all the students of ISE 6th semester on

22nd February, 2014 .

Mr Yathindra Kumar gave us a detailed introduc-

tion to Unilog. It happens to be one of the most experi-

enced company providing the world with sophisticated

analytics and materials management services. More

specifically, he told us that they are specialized in

„Big Data Analytics‟ and „Product Data Management

for e-commerce‟. There are two innovative products

for E-commerce- XRF2 and CIMM2. XRF2 is a SaaS

(Software as a service) product for Big Data Analytics

and competitive intelligence whereas, CIMM2

(Catalog Information Material Management 2) is a

fully integrated and hosted e-commerce solution for

online businesses.

Association Activities

Faculty development workshop on Software Testing was conducted by Sri. Sriharsha.P.,

Asst. Professor, department of ISE on 26 - 8 – 2013 .

Coding Workshop was conducted by departmental association INSPIRE on 3–9 –2013.

Departmental Sports – Cricket Match and Running race was conducted for students of ISE

on 17 – 9 – 2013.

Seminar on “How to face the interview of companies”, by Sri. Manuel, lead IMS Technol-

ogies, Infosys on 5 – 10 – 2013.

Sports & Annual magazine was released on 19.3.2013.

ICL - Inspire Cricket League was conducted for students on 26 – 10 – 2013.

Induction Program - Induction for the first year students of 2013 batch of ISE was held

on 29 – 10 – 2013.

Internal workshop on Software Testing Lab syllabus with hands on sessions was conduct-

ed by Ms. Shruthi. B.S., Sri. Shivakumar.P & Ms. Manasa K.B., Asst. Professors on 31

– 01 – 2014.

Technical Talk on “Text mining”, by Sri. Anil Kumar K.M , Associate Professor, SJCE,

Mysore.

Workshop on “Computer Networks”

Workshop on “Computer Networks” was organized by the Student Association IN-

SPIRE on 15-04-2015 at Ramanujacharya Bhavan, NIEIT, Mysuru. The main focus of

the workshop was hands on session on networking. The sessions were handled by

Sri. Yogesh Kumar, Senior Trainer , Sri. Ajay Kumar, Managing Director, and his

team from GTRAC, Mysuru.

th semester . Totally the

workshop was effective and interactive. The event was concluded with the Certificate

Distribution to the participants by the Principal NIEIT.

Technical Talk Technical talk on Text Mining was conducted by department of Information Science

&Engg. through the INSPIRE on 20.09.2014 by Anil Kumar K.M, Associate Professor, Dept.

of CSE, SJCE, Mysore. Mr. Anil Kumar gave us a comparative study of structured and unstruc-

tured data, and highlighted the importance of text mining and it‟s applications.

Blood donation is a service to Human kind, By donating blood we help a
