Wise Words ….
Marshall the Miracle Dog and
4-H Call on Missouri to
“Commit to be Kind”
Marshall has chosen Missouri,
his home state, for a sneak peak
of his new movie, Marshall the
Miracle Dog, on March 7-8,
2015. Marshall is calling upon
all fellow Missourians to join
he and all of his friends at over
40 theaters across the state as
Missouri “Commits to Be
Kind.”
The “Commit to Be Kind”
weekend is a statewide effort
focused on bullying prevention
and the mistreatment of
animals. 4-H Missouri
Extension as well as hundreds
of schools, and animal shelters,
from all 114 counties in
Missouri, will join forces to
make the kind of difference that
comes only with a commitment
to kindness. Students are
encouraged to get involved by
organizing supply item drives
for their local animal shelters.
Other groups and organizations
will find their own way to stand
up and be heard. The “real”
Marshall will be making
appearances at several of the
theaters throughout the
weekend.
Marshall the Miracle Dog
reveals how friendship can be
found in the most unsuspecting
of places. More importantly,
this family film reaffirms that
everyone – even bullies – have
the ability to change for the
better and become a positive
influence in the lives of others.
Audiences will be left with
Marshall’s paw print on their
heart.
Inspired by Marshall’s true
story, Marshall the Miracle
Dog shares the adventure of
Finn, a 13-year-old boy, who
has become the target of bullies
at his new school. Finn is
feeling hopeless – that is, until
he finds Marshall being caged
up by a dog-hoarder in
deplorable conditions. The
bond of friendship is
immediate. Finn knows he
must rescue Marshall, but
Marshall has been abused by
the other dogs and needs to see
the vet right away. The race
against the bullies, against the
dog hoarder, and against time,
is on. In the end, it is Marshall
who leads everyone to a place
of change, forgiveness, and
friendship.
Marshall the Miracle Dog
received the Audience Choice
Award for Best Film at the St.
Louis International Film
Festival. The film was also
awarded “Best Family Film” at
the Wild Rose Film Festival,
and the Belleville News
Democrat hailed it as the “Best
Family Film” in 2014. The
Dove Foundation awarded the
film "4 out of 5 Doves", and
approved the film for “all
ages".
The “Commit to be Kind”
weekend is being presented in
conjunction with Missouri 4-H,
the Humane Society of
Missouri, PACER’s National
Bullying Prevention Center and
Character Plus. 10% of all
ticket sales will be benefiting
Missouri 4-H.
Marshall the Miracle Dog will
be showing at Wehrenberg and
B&B theaters March 7 across
Missouri. For ticket and event
information please go to: www.marshallthemiracledog.com
