Lanakila Elementary School’s Science &Engineering Fair

On December 19th, two YMF members vol-unteered as judges for Lanakila ElementarySchool’s 3rd Annual Science and EngineeringFair. The projects were put together by 2nd,3rd, and 4th graders and were inspired byeveryday problems that people face; includingeverything from dealing with pesky flies togrowing food sustainably. As judges, volun-teers interviewed, scored, and provided posi-tive feedback for the participating students.Based on the feedback received from thejudges, Lanakila Elementary School will selectfive projects by students in the 4th and 5thgrades that will move on to the District ScienceFair. YMF, along with a few volunteers from theHawaii Section, had fun representing the civilengineering community and were veryimpressed with the projects presented. Thankyou to both the Hawaii Section and YMF mem-bers for volunteering at this event!
