VOL. 27 NO 20, MAY 24, 2017 FROM TIMA GOOD MARRIAGE SEMINAR WEEKEND – I thought our marriage seminar with Dr. Ed and Rhonda Gray was very well-done, and we are hopeful that the 35-or-so couples who came felt that it was beneficial. Its always good to re- flect on our marriage and how we can be closer and beer, so these types of events are important for us. Thanks to all the people who helped, especially to Colton for planning the event and to Len and Kathy Hubbard for being willing to lead child-care for us. LESS THAN TWO WEEKS UNTIL OUR VBS! One of the best weeks of the year is coming up fast! June 4-7 is our VBS, from 6:00-8:30pm each night, and dont forget that dinner will be provided each night. We have invitaons in the lob- by, and we have passed them out in our kids classes also. Its the last week of school, so it would be a great week to have our kids invite their friends! DO YOU HAVE PICTURES WE CAN USE FOR HOMECOMING VIDEOS AND DECORATIONS? If you have pictures of events or just Great Oaks people together in any way, we would love to have them! We will be making videos and decorang for Homecoming, and we would love to have as many pictures as possible. You can either (1) Email them to Colton: [email protected], or (2) Bring the picture with your name on the back WE APPRECIATE YOU SO MUCH! We were surprised and thankful for the elder and minister appreciaon get- together we had in the gym a couple weeks ago. This church family has always been encouraging, and we cannot thank you enough for the words of kindness you shared with all of us as ministers and elders. As a ministry staff, we oſten talk about how blessed we feel to serve with the Great Oaks church family, knowing that even though our con- gregaon isnt perfect, God has blessed us with a church culturethat is so Christ-centered and loving. On behalf of all of us: we love you and thank you! FROM TIM… A GOOD MARRIAGE SEMINAR WEEKEND – I thought our marriage seminar with Dr. Ed and Rhonda Gray was very well-done, and we are hopeful that the 35-or-so couples who came felt that it was beneficial. It’s always good to re-flect on our marriage and how we can be closer and better, so these types of events are important for us. Thanks to all the people who helped, especially to Colton for planning the event and to Len and Kathy Hubbard for being willing to lead child-care for us. LESS THAN TWO WEEKS UNTIL OUR VBS! One of the best weeks of the year is coming up fast! June 4-7 is our VBS, from 6:00-8:30pm each night, and don’t forget that dinner will be provided each night. We have invitations in the lob-by, and we have passed them out in our kids classes also. It’s the last week of school, so it would be a great week to have our kids invite their friends!

DO YOU HAVE PICTURES WE CAN USE FOR HOMECOMING VIDEOS AND DECORATIONS? If you have pictures of events or just Great Oaks people together in any way, we would love to have them! We will be making videos and decorating for Homecoming, and we would love to have as many pictures as possible. You can either (1) Email them to Colton: [email protected], or (2) Bring the picture with your name on the back WE APPRECIATE YOU SO MUCH! This church family has always been encouraging, and we cannot thank you enough for the words of kindness you shared with all of us as ministers and elders. As a ministry staff, we often talk about how blessed we feel to serve with the Great Oaks church family, knowing that even though our con-gregation isn’t perfect, God has blessed us with a church “culture” that is so Christ-centered and loving. On behalf of all of us: we love you and thank you!

Let’s live the 2nd commandment this week, in part by “overcoming evil with good!” (Romans 12:21) We will be together again Sunday morning, ready to worship God together with all our heart…

Event Spotlight: Great Oaks Preschool/Mother’s Day Out End of the Year Program

It’s hard to believe, but our Great Oaks Pre-school/Mother’s Day Out program just completed its 9th year of helping families and helping kids grow!

Last Thursday was their end of the year program, themed to “Oh the Places You’ll Go.” With songs and pictures and certificates and a reception, they celebrated the approximately 60 kids they had this year, including 13 kids who ‘graduated’ and are ready for kindergarten in the fall.

We appreciate Kathy Hubbard for leading our preschool, and we appreciate all the Great Oaks ladies who teach and help in it. We are proud of this program, and we pray it can help families for many years to come.
