Brethren:

Congratulations to the officers installed last month for the 2021 year! We have few new Brothers who have stepped into the line and I am confident that theline in place will ensure success for our beloved lodge for many years to come.

We are still in this dreaded COVID-19 lockdown so there, unfortunately, isn’t anyevents or degrees planned. There is some encouraging news reported now that avaccine is being administered so let’s all pray that we can get back to normalsoon. When we do, we have a lot of catching up to do!

I end with a special thank you to Brother Erik Harbour who has taken over theduty from Brother Michael Rad. Erik is now creating the monthly Trestleboard and Iam excited to see what new designs and ideas he has.

As always, please keep checking on each other. Because we have to remainphysically apart doesn’t mean the bonds of our fraternity are broken.

The next virtual stated meeting is on 02/04/2021 and you can log on at 7:00pm andthe meeting begins at 7:30pm sharp. If you have any new business you want added tothe agenda you must email me before the close of business 02/03/2021.

Fraternally,Lindsey ShortlandMaster

As the first United States ambassador toFrance, he exemplified the emerging

American nation.[4] Franklin wasfoundational in defining the American

ethos as a marriage of the practical valuesof thrift, hard work, education, community

spirit, self-governing institutions, andopposition to authoritarianism both

political and religious, with the scientificand tolerant values of the Enlightenment.

In the words of historian Henry SteeleCommager, "In a Franklin could be

merged the virtues of Puritanismwithoutits defects, the illumination of the

Enlightenment without its heat." To WalterIsaacson, this makes Franklin "the most

accomplished American of his age and themost influential in inventing the type of

society America would become."

Worshipful Franklin was initiated into Masonry in 1731; probably at the February meeting ofSt. John’s Lodge in Philadelphia. The esteem in which he was held is evidenced by the factthat he was elected Grand Master just a few short years later in 1735.

Worshipful Benjamin Franklin earned the title of "The First American" for his earlyand indefatigable campaigning for colonial unity, initially as an author andspokesman in London for several colonies.
