When we talk about Christmas parties, people forget that we should celebrate the one reason for this season. Yet, they give gifts out of obligation. Gift giving is an expression of love or a cultural tradition. To some people gift giving is a tradition especially this time of the year.

It has become a routine and an obligation. But to God, giving is His expression of love. He was the one who first gave and through it gave us the power or ability to give to others. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Galatians 2;20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

”It is the thought that count,” when we talk about giving, is a wrong phrase that has been used concerning gift giving. If you really thought about the person you’re giving the gift to, you would not be giving them just for the sake of giving. You would give them something of value and importance. At least something they can use. Unlike God who thinks about us constantly. Psalm 115:12 (TLB) “Jehovah is constantly thinking aboutus…” Psalm 139:17 “How precious it is, Lord, to realize that You are thinking about me constantly! I can’t even count how many times a day your thoughts turn toward me....

people are so busy with many things. Parties, buying and giving of gifts, family reunions and so many more. Survey says that the most stressful time of the year is Christmas or the Holiday season. It is sad because people have forgotten the true meaning of this season which is the abundant grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the indescribable and inexpressible gift from the Heavenly Father.

GOD’S GIFT TO YOU

And when I wake up in the morning, You are still thinking of me!” The value or importance of the gift determines the value of the recipient. (I’m not talking about spending beyond your means). God gave Jesus because to Him we are as valuable as Jesus. Jesus is God’s greatest treasure, and so are you!

Giving is the power to influence. Whether it’s God’s system or the world’s, giving has the power to influence positively or negatively. Jesus influenced the world by the giving of Himself. Every Christmas whether believers or not, gift giving has been a part of their lives. That is how God through Jesus influenced the world. Learn from the wise men that brought gifts to Jesus when He was a child. Matthew 2:1-12. They know how precious Jesus was as a gift, which is why with all their might they were honoring Him. Bible scholars believe that the gift of Gold, frankincense and myrrh was worth over $400 million today. To us Christians, every day is Christmas day because we always thank God for Jesus. He is the best gift we ever received. Every day should be gift giving for us. With the vision that we have from the Lord to reach the whole of Cavite province with an initial 20,000 leaders, giving Jesus as a gift to people will achieve it. Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”. Blessed = happy; to be jubilant. Poor = destitute; bankrupt. How can you be happy when you are bankrupt? Because Jesus has come, He is the unspeakable gift has been given to all mankind.

So beginning this Christmas and every day of our lives, let Jesus be the best gift ever that we could give to people. His grace is sufficient for all the need of this world. Having Jesus means having everything. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with us all. SHALOM! Thank God for His Indescribable gift!

“Now thanks be to God for His Gift, [precious] beyond telling [His indescribable, inexpressible, free Gift!]”

2 Corinthians 9:15 (AMP)

left His own Peace with us. We have this Peace

not as the world gives but as He gives. Therefore, let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

This simply means that you give all your cares to the Lord because God cares for you.Your cares do not belong to you. Bring them to Jesus. He will take care of it, He can handle it.

In this light, we are commanded not to worry or not to be anxious according to Philippians 4:6-7. Instead, in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

God is concerned about you in every aspect of your life. Spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally. His peace encompasses every need that you have.

The Hebrew word for Peace is Shalom. It means peace, wellness, wholeness, soundness, prosperity,

Jesus

from Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled Series

PeaceEden Joy Reteo

safety, welfare.

It also stands for a state of health or untroubled, undisturbed well-being (spirit, soul and body). God wants you in constant state of Shalom.

He sent us the Holy Spirit as our Helper to teach us all things. There is a place in God that we can reach wherein we always decide rightly and choose wisely by the leading of the Holy Spirit and avoid mistakes. So listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Let Him guide you, lead you. Give Him the opportunity. Peace in the heart is the best witness we can follow. If there’s no peace in your heart, don’t do it. If you have peace, then just do it!

In the same way, it’s our responsibility not to let our hearts be troubled. Grace has already freely given us everything by the blood of Jesus while the Peace of God on our part will retain and keep what grace has given. But never allow the devil to steal, kill and destroy anything that you already have in Christ. The enemy will disturb your mind, trouble your heart or agitate your emotions.

4 DECEMBER 2010

Page 5: Voice of Faith December 2010

IT DOES NOT MEAN TO BE IN A PLACE WHERE THERE IS NO NOISE, TROUBLE OR HARD WORK. IT MEANS TO BE IN THE MIDST OF THOSE THINGS AND STILL BE CALM IN YOUR HEART.

But if you are in Peace, he can’t devour you. The devil can’t manage a peaceful Christian because Satan himself has no peace.

Therefore, we should look after our heart which can include all of the inner man: spirit and soul. The born again spirit is already pure or perfect. But our soul is what we need to keep working on.

Our heart is the manufacturing center of life and every word seed that enters it. Both God and Satan have access to the heart. But we can control what goes into it. The Word of God can renew our heart day by day. And a person who truly wants to be beautiful inside and out must put time and effort into the development of the heart by being established in God’s Word.

In times of trials, declare Peace. It is our strong tower. It is powerful over any problem that you have. It is your strength over pressure.

This Peace is permanent. This Peace is always present. Recognize this Peace in you. Jesus, Himself is our Peace. He will never leave you in strength and never leave you in weakness. And He will never forsake you in strength and never forsake you in weakness. His grace is always sufficient for you. If there is one person who truly understands us, it’s God. He loves you so much that He wants you not to let your heart be troubled. So always be in Peace. And since we have this Peace then we should be able to dispense it. We should be peacemakers in every situation. And whenever we become one, we are acting just like our Father.

Thus, Peace must be the primary goal in every relationship. It should be our priority. Yes, it will involve planning, patience and consistent execution. But without it, no one will see or understand the Lord. Forgive others and ask for forgiveness. To forgive is to give Peace and experience Peace. Be Ministers of Reconciliation because it is about bringing peace like God who did no wrong, and yet He was the first who made a move to reconcile with us.

Lastly, God said, “Do not worry!” Worrying will cause you to miss the mark and miss the point of Jesus. What is His point? The point of Jesus is you can fully depend on Him. He loves you so much, He will never let you down. So instead of worrying, meditate on Jesus by His Word.

Use your faith to fight stress. Faith is rest. Let not your heart be troubled. Rest in the Lord!

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.

Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

MINISTRY ACTIVITIES

The Youth Remixed once again had an awesome gathering last October 29. It was a great event for the youths who had the opportunity to present their talents and creativity by singing, dancing and acting with short video presentations on the theme: “Created in His image and likeness.”

“Happy ako kasi lahat ng talents lumabas at hindi sila nahiya. Nagkaroon ng sharing ng mga ideas para makabuo ng magagandang concept at syempre hindi nawala ang Word sa bawat meeting. Nakita ko talaga na para kay Lord yung ginagawa ng bawat isa. Favorite ko yung nag-perform ang lahat ng youth at naaliw ako!” – Jansen Sapico (from Major² Faithful)

We did not only conduct these happenings but the youths were also empowered with the Word of God which helps us grow deeper and more mature in our Christian walk. We also learned its practical usage in our schools and at home which transformed our lives for God’s glory.

“Enjoy! Nakita ang mga hindi madalas makita na hindi nagpe-perform, yung creativity ng bawat group lumabas. Andun yung commitment at desire ng bawat isa kay Lord. Yung mga hindi natin masyado ka-close, nagiging close because of bonding.” – Paolo Dionson (from Major² Faithful)

These groups later on became faith groups—where youths have a time for fellowship and great bonding such as playing table tennis, billiards, badminton while having fun and also enjoying food together.

“Sa ka-group ko, hinihintay talaga namin yung reaction ng tao. Naging worth it ang 2-day practice namin. Nag-enjoy ako sa prize na natanggap namin. Nakakatuwa kasi yung audience – total laugh trip talaga!” – Ramil Astillero (from Jeje Faith)

“Nag-enjoy ako sa performace ng Jeje Faith, lalo na yung may scene na naghahabulan sina Pastor at Pastora, natuwa ako kasi ang sweet.” – Kevin Ugo (from Shalom Pass)

Seven groups prepared for these presentations that had greatly entertained the audience.

“Pinaghandaan ng bawat group for the glory of God and it’s a friendly competition.” – Narichelle Buenavista (from The Radicals)

“Di ko akalain na magagawa ko yung mga ginawa ko. Na-maximize ko ang mga talents ko at nakita ko na ang mga youths ay lumalalim sa Word. Ito ay isang opportunity sa mga pre-believers na ipakita ang talents nila.” – Bordex Parrilla (from 7-UP)

The Youth Remixed is continually used by God to reach out to more youths who are thirsty for God’s Word and we are doing this for God’s Kingdom. Youth Remixed faith groups are open for you! Just look for the following youth leaders:

A feedback from a parent: “Very supportive ako sa mga anak ko. Basta tapos lang ang schedule nila sa gawaing bahay at sa school, pinapayagan ko sila. Kapag walang pamasahe, God will provide talaga. Okay nga yung nandito sila, kaysa kung saan-saan nagpupunta. Iba talaga kapag may Word na naitanim sa puso.” – Mommy Teresa

– Joshua Baldicaño (from Major² Faithful)

A whopping 109 attendees joined the Cavite City acquaintance party last Oct 22, 2010. As expected, a lot of new youths came including those from Tanza, Cavite. The party started with Praise and Worship and it was a blast seeing all the young people worshipping God. Afterwards, the participants were grouped into four and played ‘’Shoot the Ball’’. It was really fun! As an inspirational message, Carol Timbreza shared about “Our Identity in Jesus Christ”.

It’s good to see that the youths are really doing their part to spread the word of God and it feels great knowing that we are winning more souls for the glory of God. The youths from Cavite City had a special number of their own composition about God’s great works in their lives. God also provided for the food as He used the lives of the parents to prepare meals for everyone. Mark Reyes: “I praise and thank God for our Pastors and church leaders especially to Sister Olive for having this acquaintance party here in Cavite City. We were all blessed with talents because all participated in the program and the blessing also overflowed and everything was well provided.”

For years, Christians have debated about the right way and time to celebrate religious holidays such as Christmas and Easter. Many are concerned because the dates and some of the traditions in current use may have been influenced by pagan religions.

As Christians, we need to be aware of these things. At the same time, we need to remember that God is the One Who instituted the concept of holidays. He instructed Israel to have feasts and special memorial celebrations in the Old Testament, knowing it is beneficial for men to continually remember and praise God for all the good things He has done for them.

Satan is the one who imitates and twists whatever God originally created or instituted. So if anyone is doing the imitating in regard to the celebrating of holidays like

Christmas, it is the ungodly, not Christians. We should make no apologies for wanting to commemorate and thank God for the greatest gift He ever gave us-His precious Son, Jesus.

Instructions for celebrating the life of Jesus are not specified in the New Testament, except for the instructions given regarding Communion in 1 Corinthians 11:23-34. But there are certain principles we can follow. Colossians 3:17 says, ''Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.'' And Colossians 2:16-17 makes it quite clear that we are not to let anyone else judge how we choose to celebrate a holy day or special religious festival: ''Therefore let none sit in judgment on you in matters of food and drink, or with regard to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath. Such [things] are only the shadow of things that are to come, and they have only a symbolic value. But the reality-the substance, the solid fact of what is foreshadowed, the body of it-belongs to Christ'' (The Amplified Bible).

Regardless of the day designated as a holiday by the world or the Church, as believers we should give honor to Jesus every day, in everything we do. As long as we are celebrating the reality of the One Who is the real reason for the celebrations, we are not condemned whether we have a Christmas tree, or not, or whether others are celebrating at the same time for reasons other than to glorify God.

Have a Merry and Blessed Christmas! kcm.org

Singles Unlimited held two successful monthly events entitled “OKTOBERFAITH” and “YouShow” last October 3 and November 5, respectively.

The ministry, headed by Pastora Me-Ann Bunye, continues to encourage singles ages 20-40 to get involved in activities like this which promotes fellowship and edification aiming to bring out the potential in each one.

In her teaching during the OKTOBERFAITH event, Pastora Me-Ann discussed acting on faith in connection to marriage. “It’s the will of the Lord for you to get married so start aligning yourself towards it. Act on the will of God and keep moving until you get to God’s perfect timing. Your mate is your choice. So choose well and be confident. Don’t over analyze because over analysis is contrary to faith. Marriage is by faith,” she said.

There were 70 participants who enjoyed the topic as both the ladies and the gents received practical courtship tips from her.

The following month, a costume party was held with the theme Broadcast Yourself. Fifty-five singles came in their outfit which showed their character. The event served as a venue so that members could further get to know each other by wearing who they are to the gathering.

The highlight of the party was a photobooth where everybody had fun and even got their souvenir photos for free. The best costumes were also awarded and winners received a special compilation of inspirational songs for singles.

The ministry has a lot more activities to come as our singles truly experience being unlimited with God! Join us! Discover and live the best years of your single life through Singles Unlimited.

ord, I understand that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I understand that I am to be a good steward over my body and make sure I stay physically fit.You told me in Your word to present my body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to you. I recognize that if I am overweight and out of shape, it will affect my ability to serve my family, my friends and the work of the gospel.Your word also says that if I walk in the Spirit, I will not fulfill the lust of my flesh. Holy Spirit, guide me in choosing the eating and exercise program that is best for me. Help me to make conscious lifestyle choices that will cause my body to function in health and vitality. Give me determination and courage to say no to health destroying foods and substances. Show me how to incorporate a daily exercise routine into my schedule. ear Heavenly Father, I understand that the food we eat plays the most important role in our health and the proper functioning of our bodies.

Help me to be sensible and use wisdom regarding what type of food I eat. Help me to not eat out of habit or social enjoyment but only when I am hungry.

Help me to glorify you in my body and not eat foods that bring sickness, disease or harm to my body. Help me to be disciplined to not overeat or eat late at night. Lord, I ask you to help me control my appetite instead of indulging my flesh.

Lord, give me wisdom to choose the best eating plan for me and my family.

Help me to not let the lust of the flesh control and dictate my eating habits. Before I eat anything, help me to consider the nutritional values and benefit, or the harm that the food will bring to my body. Help me to develop healthy eating habits so my body will be strong and healthy, that I may fulfill the plans and purpose you have for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!
