��Founded in 1909, Santa Barbara City College currently serves approximately 20,000 students each semester who enroll in courses for transfer preparation, career education, and foundational skills. In addition, SBCC offers a robust lifelong learning and personal enrichment program for the community through the Center for Lifelong Learning. SBCC was the 2013 national co-winner of the prestigious Aspen Institute Prize for Community College Excellence.

��Dr. Anthony Beebe began his career in higher education in 1988 as a business and management professor, first teaching at Southern Oregon State College (Ashland, OR), before moving to Portland Community College, and then Marylhurst University, near Portland. Prior to this, Dr. Beebe was a fire fighter, working as a training officer in a fire academy on an Army base in Saudi Arabia. Earlier he was a full-time fire fighter for Douglas County Fire District #1 in Oregon.

Beebe earned a Doctor of Education degree from Oregon State University; an MBA from California State University, Sacramento; a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Oregon; and an Associate’s degree from Lane Community College, in Eugene. In 2003, Dr. Beebe completed the Harvard University Graduate Institute for Higher Education Management Development Program. He is currently completing a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara.
