Did You Know? Spirit of Life has an AED, Automated External Defibrillator, mounted on the east wall as you enter the Activ-ity Center from the passageway. AED’s are user-friendly devices that untrained bystanders can use to save the life of someone having SCA

(sudden cardiac arrest). Next week, we will provide informa-tion on how to use an Automated External Defibrillator.

Food Pantry/Outreach News Some of the sweetest blessings happen in the simplest form. The Spirit of Life Food Pantry Outreach Ministry continues to be a generous expression of love to so many people. You as a parish offer so much in a multitude of ways; whether it be by offering prayers, financial resources, food and item dona-tions, volunteering, etc., leaving those whom we serve saying things like, “I know I come here for food but this is also the only place I can talk to people who really seem to care and I can unload. For some reason I just leave here feeling better.” So simple, yet so profound. Another gentleman said the most humbling thing, “You know I don’t know how to say this but you know how people talk about God…like people say if you know God and have Him in your life you will be happy…. so is that what has happened around here, cause people here are so happy and this church gives so much.” This left me in awe, speechless in a sense. As I contemplate scripture readings it all comes down to love/relationships and self sacrifice/giving to those in need and in the end giving all glory to God. What a beautiful model this parish continues to live by. Again my heart swells with gratitude for all your continued support and loving generosity. Jackie

Bismarck Mandan Right to Life Roses and carnations are offered this weekend after all the Masses, except Sunday evening, for a free will offering. Thank you for your generosity over the years for this worthy cause.

Shrines of Our Blessed Mother Pilgrimage You are invited by Msgr. Gion, along with Fr. Daniel Griffith from the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis, to a pilgrimage to the Shrines of Our Blessed Virgin Mother in France, Spain & Portugal!! The pilgrimage runs for 12 days, from September 12th-23rd. The pilgrimage is through Mater Dei Tours in col-laboration with Twin City Pilgrims; www.true-catholic-pilgrimages.com or toll free 800-515-2632 or 952-356-9455 to book or for more information.

Because of your generosity, 609 adults, 581 children, and 40 seniors were fed through the Spirit of Life Food Pantry in April. 259 people were assisted in other areas. TIME: Adoration, saying the Rosary, praying for others in need, help with funerals, assisting homebound, funeral lunches, hospital or nursing home visits, soup kitchen TALENT: Parish committees, office help, music SERVICE: Altar Server, Eucharistic Minister, Hospitality, Ushers, Music, Educational Ministries TOTAL MEALS SERVED AT SOUP KITCHEN IN April: 329 TOTAL NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS IN APRIL: 291 TOTAL NUMBER OF HOURS CONTRIBUTED IN April: 1310.5 STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT: Giving of our time, talent and treasure mainly involves a change of attitude about giving. It is important to think in terms of giving in gratitude to God, of considering how blessed we are, and of using our gifts and talents for the good of others.
