PALONTOLOGICAL CHILEAN PLACES

There are many place in Chile where we may find fossil, but I

only talk about 2 places: “Lo Valdes” and “Quinamavida”

Valley Lo Valdes‘s FossilIn valley Lo Valdes there are remains of marine animal petrify. This place is located to 58 miles of Santiago city in Chile. That place is 6.500 feet above sea level and 77 miles far from the sea. The strange thing is that the land than today invite you to know, a 130 millions year ago is under The Pacific Ocean. The Cataclysms shaped in that period The Andes Mountain left over marine vestige on fossil tank.

Quinamavida’s Fossil

That place is located to northwest 10 miles of Linares city in Chile. In “Quinamavida” we may find remains of plant preserved in the rock. A tank of volcanic stone toba was found in 1994, than it contains a good conservative flora fossil.The fossil is 50 millions years old, corresponding to the coceno period.
