Edge Hill University Psychology Department prides itself on creating a learning and research environment that provides students with an exceptional student experience and equips them with the knowledge and techniques needed to succeed in the 21st century. Our students benefit from the three things that make up excellent higher education, namely studying in a first class research environment, in a University ranked Gold for its teaching, and excellent ‘value added’ activities during the degree. Our BSc degree courses are accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), the foundation for BPS ‘Chartership’ in areas such as Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology. Our 2018 BPS Accreditation highlighted the outstanding research opportunities available for our students. We have also been ranked in the top 10 in the National Student Satisfaction Survey for Assessment and Feedback, and we have achieved these results by integrating employability skills within our specialist modules, supporting students with a range of life-long outstanding skills. We think that the best way for us to demonstrate our success is to showcase the achievements and experiences of our students. Here is a selection of case studies, including stories of student and graduate success, to introduce you to the enterprise, engagement and work-related learning activities that enrich our programmes. Visualising Success: Enterprise and Engagement

Throughout her time studying, not only has Janice excelled in her assignments, but she developeda highly successful educational campaign that runs in secondary schools across the North West.

She felt that anti-social behaviour in young people needed tackling, and as part of her AppliedPsychology module, she was set the task of designing a project to help people in a community.Through her engagement with multi-agency organisations, she identified that tougher interventionswere needed within schools for anti-social behaviour. The scheme has proven to be a greatsuccess across the North West and is supported by the local police and Apex Charitable Trust, andJanice was awarded Edge Hill’s Reverend Jesse Jackson Scholarship in recognition of her work.

In addition to the initiative, Janice also works closely with Apex in developing peer mentoringschemes for supporting vulnerable women and finding solutions to develop their future prospects.

She is a great example of how an enthusiastic and keen mind can make greatprogress on supporting real-world concerns. We recently invited Janice to speakwith our final year students on her work with her charity and how she has appliedher course knowledge. It is great to see Janice so engaged with enthusing andsupporting others in her vision.Dr Linda Kaye Programme Leader Educational Psychology
