Only exchange at banks and authorized exchange offices. • Always watch your belongings. • If you are going to go outside, inquire at the front desk of your hotel about the safest routes and means of transportation. • Do not stop for strangers and don’t attend to their requests. • Look for help from the police if you need it. • Protect the natural resources and the environment.

• Use the resources but don´t exploit them. Save water and electricity.

• Reduce, reuse and recycle.• Be conscious of the amount of waste

generate during tours, use the waste bins and separate waste.

• Do not feed animals in the wild.

• Protected Wildlife Area (ASP) is “a physical space which is dedicated to the conservation and protection of the biodiversity, soils, water resources, cultural resources and the services of the ecosystems in general”, article 58 of the Biodiversity Law Nº 7788.

• Costa Rica makes a big effort to preserve its biological richness (5% of the global biodiversity). It possesses a National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC), and there are 160 Protected Wildlife Areas; 25% of the National Territory is under protection.

• The guide needs to make sure that the carrying capacity established will not be exceeded when taking a group to the trails of the Protected Wildlife Areas. (Carrying capacity 20 persons).

• The Costa Rican law protects the equality and the rights of the people with special needs (law Nº7600). Do not discriminate these persons.

• Costa Rica has a conservationist and protective legislation of human rights. Help us to preserve and report.
