LEARN SOME NEW TECHNIQUES IN PHOTOSHOP ;)

WHAT IS A VISION BOARD?

• A vision board is a tool used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on a specific life goal.

• you display images that represent whatever you want to be, do or have in your life.

WHAT’S THE POINT OF MAKING A VISION

BOARD?

• Simply put, we humans tend to be a very busy species and constantly bombarded by distractions. Creating and using vision boards serves several purposes, some of which include helping you to:

• Identify your vision and give it clarity.

• Reinforce your daily affirmations.

• Keep your attention on your intentions.

OVERCROWDING IMAGES

• Organization is KEY to making this board look good.

• Plan out where the photos of you will go, then create a flow of words , quotes , icons, images, etc. You will rearrange these images many times as you work in Photoshop, buthaving a plan and being organized when collecting images is important.

• CREATE A NEW FOLDER TITLED “VISION BOARD”

• You will be learning how to create a variety of texts and shapes in PS while adding them to a digital board with your photos and icons.

• Your previous knowledge of creating masking layers is needed as you will be working with over 30 images in one project.

• One requirement is to have a few photos of you in this collage. Each pose will help illustrate you in a pose that helps bring a unique look to your board. You will be taking portrait photos next class. Come prepared with ideas and props.

• Vision boards should be created for something that could and will happen in their future if they work hard enough .

• You will be using 10+ CLIP ART images and icons that reflect and illustrate your goals and visions.

• Between 1-3 motivational quotes or memes . Must be positive and motivational with no vulgarity

• 20 words that describe you and your vision (some created in PS, some found as clip-art)

• You must use 3-5 images of you, your face, or your eyes to use as a starting point or focal point in your artwork. Pictures must be taken in class.

• Other photos of family , friends or iconic figures can be used to add personal touch if they relate to your story board.

Objective

MY EXAMPLE:

• This is just the beginning of my board, but so far I have included images and icons that match my theme.

• You are creating a visual story of where you are now and where you want to be in the next 1-5 years.

• You will be typing a creatively written essay that describes what your vision board is showing.

• You will make changes every class period you work on it. Be sure to save a NEW COPY with a NEW NAME to your flash-drive and DESKTOP.

ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN AT WORK…..

What is needed to be aesthetically pleasing?

• Balance, space, color, contrast, emphasis , movement.

What needs to be added and adjusted?

• line , shapes and form, proportions, textures ( maybe)

HOW TO BEGIN IN YOUR JOURNAL……• Start by collecting words, phrases or quotes that you find inspirational and motivational in

regards to your goals and visions. You can either find them as clipart or create them as a text in photoshop.

• Google some CLIP ART of small icons or logos that help illustrate your goals and intentions . Be sure to adjust your google search for JPEGS that larger than 800 pixels.

TODAY:

• you will Take 5 photos of you. These can be portraits or creative shots of you walking, sitting, and other poses. They can be of just your face, eyes, or another identifiable body parts that help bring a unique perspective to your board.

• Write this website down in your Journals. You will need to access this site for all the tutorials. It’s a very useful tool for you to explore. If you are curious to learn more about Photoshop and other Adobe programs.
