• Established in October 2008 in the General Department of Human Resources.

• Vision: to be a leading technological center in developing virtual environments to aid the global security efforts.

• Mission: is to improve our human resources and to raise awareness in various fields through the use of virtual environments.

• Goals:

1. To develop virtual applications to support the current teaching and training methods.

2. To develop video games for awareness programs.

3. To create 3D documentary movies to archive cases.

Simulating real-life incidents in virtual environments.

Perform similar tasks to real-life incidents.

9. Learning

Strengths • Team selection and

formation. • Agile (Scrum methodology). • Development pipeline. • Technology adaptation. • Replication to different fields.

Opportunities • Venturing into different fields. • Releasing commercial Free-To-

Play games to the public. • Increasing the intellectual

properties capital. • Knowledge-transfer platform.

Threats/Risks • High demand for the use of

this technology. • Managing expectation. • Middle management

resistance.

Weaknesses

• Intellectual properties capital valuation.

• Mobile testing due to the huge number of devices especially for Android.

• Marketing: not easy to approach customers as a government entity.

The more emotionally invested in your product, the better the user experience should be.

What Went Well & What Went Wrong

Lesson Learnt

Do Differently

Rely more on community supported technologies rather than proprietary technologies.

Page 27: Virtual Applications

Unique – Significant - Different

• Lets you simulate scenarios that are almost impossible to do in field training.

Unique

Significant

• Transformed learning in Dubai Police in many fields.

• Part of the License in Law major in Dubai Police Academy

• Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) KPI.

• Used in training by many regional police forces.

• United Nation Requested our products.

• International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recommended our products.

• Serious games are tailor-made to local law and crime patterns.

• Awareness games are tailor-made to preserve the national identity.

• Inspire & Engage.

• More fun than traditional methods.

What sets us apart from others

Pioneers

First specialized in-house games development center in a police organization to develop serious games.

First in the world to develop a simulation for Traffic accidents investigation.

Awareness Delivery Method

Innovative and engaging delivery methods for awareness messages to the community.

Technology-based Learning

Cutting-edge technology adaptation to enhance learning methods and promote continuous learning in a public organization.

Transfer of Knowledge

We have developed a platform for sharing knowledge as all the trainee data is saved and this is important for patterns analysis.

Partnership

Our Emarati video games are developed in collaboration with more than 40 organizations and more than 1000 students from the UAE.

Tourism

Our games are developed based on the UAE cities and highlight

important landmarks.

Expertise

Our team of experts has wide range of experiences in building simulations and games for different target audiences and for a variety of fields. We’ve also started developing commercial custom made projects for external customers.

Variety of Topics

Our products cover all the 4 strategic goals of Dubai Police and range across 10 different security & awareness topics servicing most of the 20 general departments and all the 10 police stations and more than 7 other organizations and more than 30 schools.
