Vinh University English Speaking Zone steps up to the age of 3

English Speaking Zone was established by Vinh University’s Youth Union in 2013 and has been leaded by gifted students from Foreign languages Department. This club has been designed to increase English studying spirits of students at Vinh University. Attributed to its advantages are that students from Departments have great opportunities to improve English communication, develop public presentation and share materials as well as undergraduate experiences.

ESZ được thành lập bởi Đoàn trường Đại học Vinh vào năm 2013 và được các sinh viên tài năng của khoa Sư phạm Ngoại ngữ điều hành. Câu lạc bộ ESZ nhằm mục đích tang cường tinh thần học tiếng Anh cho sinh viên toàn trường Đại học Vinh. Thêm vào đó, các bạn có nhiều cơ hội tuyệt vời nâng cao kỹ năng giao tiếp bằng tiếng Anh, phát triển kỹ năng nói trước công chúng và chia sẻ tài liệu học tập cùng với các kinh nghiệm học tập tại trường Đại học.

At 7:30 pm on Thursday, April 9th, 2015 English Speaking Zone took place at A0 conference Hall of Vinh University. This occasion remarked that English Speaking Zone steps up to the age of 3. A great number of lecturers and students in different Departments took part in the Club. It was more wonderful that the presence of Mrs. Amy, American expert who has been teaching at Vinh University since the first semester and Mr. Tan, both the Youth Union secretary of Foreign Languages Department and the English lecturer contributed to the success of the Club meeting.

Vào lúc 7h 30 tối thứ 5 ngày 9 tháng 4 năm 2015, CLB English Speaking Zone diễn ra tại phong họp A0 trường Đại học Vinh. Đây là dịp CLB bước sang tuổi thứ 3. Nhiều giảng viên và sinh viên ở các khoa đào tạo tham gia CLB. Thật tuyệt vời hơn v sự hiện diện của Cô Amy, chuyên gia người Mỹ đang giảng dạy tại trường Đại học Vinh từ đầu học kỳ 1 và thầy Tân, bí thư liên chi Đoàn khoa Sư phạm Ngoại ngữ, giảng viên tiếng Anh đã góp phần vào thành công của buổi sinh hoạt.

The meeting was conducted by two MCs, Tri Hung and Le Tra. They attracted the audiences with carefully prepared activities in delightful atmosphere and gave a lot of gifts to ones in the games round as soon as they had made a report on the situation for 2 year operation of ESZ.

Hai người dẫn chương trình Trí Hùng và Lê Trà điều hành buổi sinh hoạt. Họ thu hút khán giả nhiều hoạt động đã được chuẩn bị trước trong không khí sôi nổi và trao những món quà nhỏ cho những người tham gia trò chơi sau khi họ đọc bài báo cáo về hoạt động của Câu lạc bộ 2 năm trước.

The main topic for participants to discuss was about “Be-lated Easter day” . The

topic’s purposes are to provide everyone with general knowledge about Easter day,

eggs decoration, the interesting discoveries for “The new birth of Jesus” resurrection, and common activities people celebrate: Church services, festive family meals, Easter egg decoration, and gift-giving.

There were some beautiful singing - dancing performances: “Speak now”, “butterfly fly away” and a dancing item.

Going to games round, participants were divided into 4 different groups to attend the game. There was a number of games in conjunction with the Easter at the Club. The game of egg decoration was divided into three subparts: Color hunters, Egg Hunters, and Dye eggs. For Color Hunters, when two MCs shouted out colors, members in those groups rapidly found the required colors and raised their hands to receive that color serving the following game.

Egg Hunters was tied by the previous Color Hunters. All of four groups moved around the hall to collect available hidden eggs in 2 minutes. After that, they kept their whole collected eggs.

The ending part is Dye eggs. Members in four groups showed their completed eggs as soon as they had decorated eggs with colors to express their meaningful messages of their eggs decoration.

Hot potatoes was another games for participants. Each pack of chips was considered as a hot potato. When the music was played, it would be given to the following people continually. When the music was paused, whoever holding hot potato must give the answers to the questions. If those who gave wrong answer, they would be punished at the end of the meeting. “Shake and push”

was the punishment. They followed the shout from MCs to do the required actions.

After those games, some people made their presentations on the Easter Day in front of audiences. Mrs. Amy also share her ideas reflecting different scenes of Easter Day in the world with audiences.

At the end of the meeting, two MCs summarized the main knowledge of Easter Day and sent thanks to audiences for their participants. English Speaking Zone is expected to innovate activities and increase its efficiency.
