Interim Principal’s Newsletter

September 15, 2014

Beloved Nolan Catholic Community: Greetings of Peace! On Thursday, we as a community are asked to, again, support our school through the North Texas Giving Day. Today, our freshman classes will continue their second retreat schedule put together by our beloved Campus Ministry team. Let us keep our students, teachers, facilitators and all those involved in this second retreat of the year in our prayers. Congratulations to our Football, volleyball and cross country athletes and coaches for making us proud with your well-deserved achievements last week! THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: On the essence, origin and meaning of the word Donation. “It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” ― Mother Teresa From Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

Middle English donatyowne, from Latin donation-, donatio, from donare to present, from donum gift; akin to Latin dare to give

First Known Use: 15th century

CAMPUS MINISTRY

1. Weekly Liturgies. This week’s liturgy will be sponsored by Mrs. Corbett and her E period class. Our celebrant will be Fr. Gary Picou.

2. Divine Mercy Chaplet in the Chapel. In addition to our morning prayer in the chapel from 7:00 am -7:15 am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, we will begin the recitation of the Divine Chaplet in the Chapel every Monday morning.

ACADEMICS

1. Progress Reports. Please update grades by 4:00 p.m. today. 2. Curriculum Leadership Team in the Diocese Last Tuesday. The focus of the

meeting was on data-based decision making. We will continue to use data from grade distribution reports, ACT, SAT and AP scores to help us in our curriculum, instruction and assessment planning.

THURSDAY – SEPTEMBER 18 – APPROX 4:00PM

Good Afternoon Parents,

This is Nolan Catholic High School President, Erin Vader.

Please don’t forget that the opportunity to participate in NORTH TEXAS GIVING DAY and to help Nolan Catholic High School extends until mid-night tonight.

On this one day, every donation over $25 will be multiplied by local cor-porations – making your contribution stretch further!

These funds will be used to enhance both our campus and our class-rooms, promote greater tuition assistance for families in need and sup-port faculty with additional tools and training.

If you haven’t done so already, I encourage you to go to our NCHS website and click the special button to make an on-line gift.

On behalf of all of us at Nolan, thank you in advance, for your willingness to GET UP & GIVE!
