VIJAY DARDA: WEST-CENTRAL RAILWAY ELIMINATES ALL UNMANNED CROSSINGS FROM ITS SYSTEM

Vijay Darda Letest News New Delhi, Sept 2 (ANI): The West-Central Railway

(Headquarter- Jabalpur) Zone on Wednesday became the first railway zone in the Indian Railways to eliminate all unmanned level crossings from its system by 31st August, 2015.

A total of 118 unmanned level crossings were reported in West-Central Railways as on April 1, 2014 out of which 80 unmanned crossings were eliminated in the last financial year. The targets of 66 and the remaining 38 have been achieved in current financial year by 31st August, 2015.

This was achieved by constructing 33 Limited Height Sub Ways (LHs) and manning of 30 level crossings also pronounced as a big safety initiative.
