The significance androle of teachers for any nationis underscored by variousthinkers and philosophers.No nation can rise abovethe quality standard of itseducation system. And noeducation, in turn, can beabove the quality and standardof its teachers. Numerouseducation commissions, sinceindependence, have givenmany valuable suggestions to

improve the quality of education in thecountry. But ultimately thesesuggestions, howsoever precious andvaluable, could be implemented onlyby the teacher who are committed tothe cause.

Gurudev Rabindranath Tagorerightly pointed out, “The real educationcan be imparted only by the teacherand not by any method.” Hence therole of teacher is of paramountimportance. Keeping in view therole and significance of the teachers

Alumni of Sarswati Shishu Mandirschools of Telugu states (Telagana &Andhra Pradesh) who have settled inBengaluru, got together on thespecial occasion of Sneha MilanSamaroh, at Jaigopal GarodiyaRashtrothana Vidyalaya, Kalyana Nagar,Bengaluru at 29th June 2019.

The programme began bylighting earthen lamps in front of“Bharat Maata Murtee” by guests andAcharyas of Sarswati Shishu Mandirs– Sri Lingam Sudhakar Reddy garu, SriRavula Suryanarayna garu, SriKotamraju garu, Sri PatakamuriSriniwasarao garu, Sri HanumanthaRao garu, Sri Narsimhulu garu and SriHarismaran Reddy garu. This wasfollowed by Sarswati Vandana.

to many districts of Telangana andAndhra Pradesh regions assembledreminiscing the value based educationthat they received from their reveredAcharyas which helped themimmensely in succeeding in theirlife pursuits. Many of them are presentlyworking as executives and leadershiproles in top notch companies. Eachex-student got an opportunity toexpress his/her opinion regarding theformative education that they receivedduring their school days. One couldevidently see the joy and heartfeltgratitude while they were expressingthe feelings towards their school.The discipline, patriotism, social valuesand ethics and above all thehumanitarian principles were the keytakeaways from ex-student’sspeeches.

Addressing the alumni gathering,the keynote speaker Sri LingamSudhakar Reddy garu (OrganisingSecretary, Vidya Bharti Dakshin Madhyakshetra) said, “Classroom is where theNation’s future beholds”. Whileobserving about the present educationsystem, Sri Sudhakar lamented thatit is producing excellent doctors,engineers, lawyers, scientists,entrepreneurs, teachers and manymore professionals but are theyequipped to uphold human valuesand ethics, he questioned.

He added, on the other side, theparents are anguished when their childscores 5 marks less in Mathematicsor Science or any subjects, but do notbother about child’s behaviour towardstheir elders, be it parents,grandparents or other elders. Whatmust alarm the parents is the child’sbehavior, than the 5 marks in regularsubjects, because child can aquiremany degrees but discipline andcertain behavioral aspects can becorrected only in the formative years.The present schooling system doesnot provide the Samskar for children.It is the parent’s duty to take care ofchild’s overall development in theirhectic schedule. Quoting SwamiVivekananda, “We want that educationby which character is formed, strengthof mind is increased, the intellectis expanded”. Sri Sudhakar garu said,Sarswati Shishu Mandirs all over Bharatcontinues to stride in that path.

He stated that, it is incorrect tohyphenate “Education and Samskars,as Samskaras minus the educationis not an education at all, ratherinherently same. Emphasising on needfor a holistic growth of a child, he said,Samskaras play a vital role in formativeyears, and it is incumbent on us toimpart the true values of humanity andDharma to prepare today’s childrenas tomorrow’s World leaders andThought leaders.

Talking about the Philosophy of“Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam” Sri Sudhakarji emphasised that, while we canimbibe the technological advancesfrom the west in tune with the times,

both the “National character andIndividual character” are necessary forbuilding a better future and wellbeingof Bharat, which has been thephilosophy of Rashtriya SwayamsewakSangh (RSS), the world’s largestvoluntary organisation from whereSarswati Shishu Mandirs’ drawinspiration.

It was also informed that SarswatiShishu Mandirs will be having itsnational Alumni meet at SriVidyapeetham, Bandlaguram,Hyderabad Bhagyanagar. on29 th December 2019. The alumniwill be fortunate to listen toRashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh’sSarsanghchalak Sri Mohanji Bhagwatwho will be the key note speaker onthe occasion.

The President of the ShishuMandir Ex-student Association(Telangana & Andhra regions PoorvaVidyarthi Parishad) Sri HarismaranReddy garu proudly cited manyexamples of our ex-student’scontributions be it resources, monetaryand their valuable time in helping ourShishu Mandir schools andencouraged ex-students to take smallinitiatives in strengthening value-basededucation for Sarswati Shishu Mandirs.Inspired by these speeches andinitiatives by the school, manyex-students volunteered their timeand resources.
