Who?● We are a group of high school students who

run a FIRST FRC team● We have an amazing group of mentors● Anyone can be a part of FRobotics

What?● Each year we participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition.● The students on our team learn invaluable skills by participating in various

subteams.● It’s a real world engineering high school competition where students are

given and objective to build a functioning robot that must meet specific requirements while being able to accomplish multiple tasks. We are totally responsible to develop and manage a budget, design and build a robot, while gaining invaluable analytical and leadership skills related to engineering, software development, and business.

Where?● We work out of a local workshop space. ● We practice at other local locations too.● We travel to a practice field run by another FRC team

(Team 3504 The Girls Of Steel).● We attend the Greater Pittsburgh Regional, held at

CalU.

Kickoff● January 9th 2016● Kickoff Day is the day in which FIRST FRC teams

worldwide are presented with the game for the season.● This day marks the beginning of the build season each

year.

Build Season● Begins on January 9th (Kickoff) and ends on February 23rd (Bag N’ Tag)● Build season is approximately 6 weeks (45 Days)● During this time we design, prototype, build, program, and test our robot● Sub Teams work together to create the final product● During the build season we will typically have workshop time from 7pm to 9pm

every night of the week and we’ll work from 9am to 4pm or 5pm on the weekends

Bag N’ Tag Night● February 23rd 2016● On Bag N’ Tag Night we add the finishing

touches to the robot and then put it in a bag by 12:00am

● We are not allowed to work on the robot until competition

● This is so that no teams can have an advantage

● Teams are allowed to build parts for their robot that they will add on at competition in the pit

The Greater Pittsburgh Regional● FRC Regionals begin two weeks after Bag N’ Tag● Regional and District competitions are held worldwide● Team 4150 has been attending the Greater Pittsburgh Regional for the last

four years● For the last two years it was held at CalU● This year’s regional will be held during March 10th through 12th (Thurs. Fri.

Sat.)● We compete against approximately 48 other FRC teams● Schedule:

○ Day 1: Practice matches and begin qualification rounds○ Day 2: Continue qualification rounds○ Day 3: End of qualification rounds, choose alliances, elimination rounds,

determine Regional Champions
