WHAT a lengthy, exhausting yet rewarding month we just had! The thousands of visitors who

eagerly came, the souls who were wondrously saved, the members who zealously involved through their prayers and sacrifices, the great spirit that supremely reigned and the orderliness that constantly pervaded were are all manifestations that it was only through God that we accomplished a victorious 32nd Church Anniversary! Indeed, it was proven again… It can be done! To God be the glory!

Now, we are starting another chapter of our church history. Let us make sure that we and our families are all committed in growing together with our church in our 33rd year. As God continually strengthens our church, it is my desire to see that our church helps strengthen many families. The family may be the smallest institution God established compared to the church and government, but when we allow Satan to ruin it, it surely affects our spiritual life. May our Sunday School lessons for this month be a help in building up the families in our church.

One of the yearly major events in our church may be over for this year, but our Christianity must not stop there. Instead, it must be an introduction to what more we can do for God. Let us follow up the visitors that we had last month. Let us be excited on what God has in store for us this year. Together, let us build a victorious life with God.

VICTORIOUS THROUGH FAMILY DEVOTIONS

Victorious Christian Living (Family Devotions)Deuteronomy 6

I. The principles governing the family must be based on the life-changing book of God. A. Families must conform to God's standard. B. Families must carry on the godly standards to the next generation. C. Families must be convinced of the great need for God’s blessings. D. Families must completely be loyal to the Lord. E. Families must be committed to God’s word. F. Families must be consistent in teaching God’s instructions to their own family members.

II. The program guiding the family for life-charging devotions must be started as soon as possible. A. It must start between the couple. B. It must stay through tough times. C. It must still be around though the family gets bigger.“

“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it:- Psalm 127:1 -

...as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Christian Bible Baptist Church, San Pedro, Laguna is a landmark of God’s greatness. It in itself is a statement that, “With God, it can be done.” For 32 years, the Lord has proven Himself faithful. He has given great victories, as the church witnesses thousands and thousands of souls saved every anniversary.

This 2011, the Church prepared to reach more souls for the Lord. Christians prepared their hearts through observing the Lord’s Supper. Christians rekindled their zeal through Revival night last February 2, 2011, with Dr. Ray Young, the president of Hyles-Anderson College in Indiana, USA.

Through a spirited motorcade on February 5, 2011, CBBC showcased God’s greatness. Bright light-colored cartolinas, printed 32nd Anniversary shirts, invitation leaflets, church and member vehicles, megaphones, mobile patrols, excited Christians swarmed the streets of baranggays, towns and cities, proclaiming salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Divisions A to E had their starting points at Pacita Complex, Puregold San Pedro, Canlalay, Tagapo and Puregold GMA, respectively.

Recapturing a Month-Long Celebration of God’s Faithfulness in 32 Years

Beholding the Beauty of our Great God through the Christian Bible Baptist Church

“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.”

Psalm 27:4

Week after week, with the leading of the Holy Spirit, church workers and members alike knocked on doors, won souls and invited individuals, families, schools, and offices to hear of a Great God, Who would give them so great salvation.

“It is a great privilege to serve God in every week of the Anniversary month. I thank God for making me a part of His great work through this church anniversary. I was able to see revival in prayer, area soulwinning and visitations. This 32nd anniversary served as a challenge to me. I was able to witness to my relatives. I was motivated to share the gospel with my classmates. I thank God that my teacher allowed me to witness to our class. By the grace of God, 50 souls got saved and 4 became first time visitors in our church. I know and I believe that God will give a great victory!”

Such was the testimony of Oliver C. Calvadores, a young Christian during the Frontliner’s meeting before the last anniversary Sunday.

God’s Great Goodness“Anniversary is remembering God’s goodness for bringing us to church.” – Rev. Meljun LaurenaMembers of Christian Bible Baptist Church, San Pedro, Laguna are reminded

of God’s goodness. God has been good for sending a man of God to this place on January 5, 1978. God has been good that for 32 years, the gospel has not ceased to be preached in this place and its neighboring towns and cities. Indeed, members of CBBC, SPL have rare privilege of being numbered in the church of the true and living God. They are taught through a King James Bible-anchored doctrine and are nourished to growth in the faith, grace and knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They are trained to be soulwinners, allowing them to reach, not only others for the Lord, but more precious, the souls of their loved ones. They are counted in to serve a holy God, reaping blessing in abundance in this present time and in generations to come. They are enabled to give to a great work, taking part in the Great Commission of the Great God.

God’s Great ProvisionGod provided all things needed. God gave good weather throughout the

month. Preachers for the four Sundays were Dr. Kevin Folger of Cleveland Baptist Church, Dr. Ed Laurena, Dr. Larry Clayton and Evangelist Joseph Knouf, respectively. A joy as well is the presence of Pastor Weniel Pichardo - a fruit of Dr. Ed Laurena’s door knocking in his early ministry at San Pedro who is now a preacher in Daly City, California. At the last night, Rev. Dennis Daniel also shared his testimony and commended CBBC’s tracts distribution. God also fueled the church transportation needs in every week and anniversary Sunday. God worked through members who gave willingly to support every area.

By God’s grace, church vehicles and rentals, not yet including volunteered services of members yielded this result: 1st Sunday - 163 vehicles with 2,137 visitors; 2nd Sunday - 173 vehicles with 2,159 visitors; 3rd Sunday - 187 vehicles with 2,069 visitors; and, 4th Sunday - 203 vehicles with 2603 visitors.

God’s Great Victory“It’s not for the hoorays, not for the yahoos! It is the vision we have, the

burden we have to carry on the gospel.” – Dr. Larry ClaytonGod gave the victory as the number of people who heard the gospel

added up to a grand total of 10,608: 1st Sunday – 2,528; 2nd Sunday – 2,585; 3rd Sunday – 2,456; and, 4th Sunday – 3,039.

Mayor Calixto Cataquiz graced the event with his presence at the 2nd ser-vice of February 27, 2011. Visitors also included Carmona National High School (32), Bayanan Elementary School (64), Pedro Diaz High School (159), Laguna Police Mobile Group (13), Philippine National Police Academy (55), Special Action Force (50), Philippine National Police - Camp Eldridge (383), SPRCNHS (48) and students from Perpetual University.

To God be the glory as hands were raised, visitors professing that they followed in prayer, accepting Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

ACTS 29 | MARCH 06 | PAGE 07

"Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD. And the priest's custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand; And he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither. Also before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw. And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force. Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD." 1 Samuel 2:12-17

Passive parents breed rebellious children.According to a survey, the employed parent aged 25 to 54 spends his 24 hour day as follows:• 8.8 hours-working (work-related activities)• 7.6 hours-sleeping• 2.6 hours-leisure and sports• 1.7 hours-other activities• 1.3 hours-caring for others (time with family, volunteering, etc.)• 1.0 hours-eating and drinking (meals)• 1.0 hours-household activities

As the survey shows, the average parent spends just over an hour a day on others, including their children. This statistic is disappointing, especially when coupled with the statistic that parents spend an average of 3.5 minutes of meaningful conversation with their children each week while children spend an average of 1,689 minutes (28.2 hours) a week watching television (study done by Dr. Norman Herr, California State University, Northridge, 2007).

Take a minute to think about how much time you spend with your child. Think of how often you get to talk with them one-on-one. When was the last time you took them on a "date" or spent alone time with them? Your child needs personal time with you more than you'd think.

Consider the example of Eli's sons. For whatever reason, Eli neglected spending time mentoring, train-ing, and connecting with his sons, and the result is obvious. They were rebellious, irreverent men who defiled God's temple. While they were responsible for their sins, Eli was also responsible for his lack of training.

Society today isn't centered on supporting the family like it once was. You will have to work hard to make time for your children, but it's worth the extra effort. Your children need to know of your love for them and your love for God. They need you to ask them about their day, show interest in their lives, and support them.

Determine to be a parent who is actively involved in your children's lives. Spend time with them, talk to them, build strong relationships that shows that you aren't content to just watch them grow up. Ask God for wisdom in knowing how to parent your child, and determine to be an active part of your family.

ACTS 29 - Christian Bible Baptist Church official Sunday publication
