Pillar Of Fame

The oldest feature event on the NSW GBOTA’s Calendar, this

traditional classic, age restricted event was first conducted in 1951

and known as the ‘Annual Classic’.

It was re-named the Vic Peters Memorial Classic in 1962, in honour

of the passing of Vic Peters, the first Secretary of the Association

(1939 to 1961).

In 2011 this wonderful event celebrated 60 years of tradition.

It has produced some of Australia’s great young talent. Corporate

bookmaker, Centrebet now has naming rights to this wonderful

event and with final night occurring in conjunction with

VRC’s Derby Day this event will be sure to be a special day of racing.

Race DescriptionAllen Dion was fast to begin from box eight with Proven Nitro in box seven also

crossing the field quickly. Proven Nitro clung to the rails for the majority of the race but

crossed over in the home stretch for a colossal win in a time of 29.96. Renegade Chief

encountered a lot of trouble throughout the race, finishing strongly for a good third.

Priority entry granted to nominated greyhounds that have won a Group 1 event or a Group 2 event of not less than 450m and not more than 595m in the 12 months prior to

close of nominations. Remaining balance of Heats determined under the guidelines of the GRNSW TAB Grading Policy. Heat composition determined by blind draw. Guarding for owners and trainers applies to heats where possible. Semi-finals determined by a formula which recognizes finishing positions and recorded times in Heats. Guarding does not apply

in semi-finals. Semi-finals composition determined purely on Heat performance
