1 Introduction

This document gives you a short overview about the first steps after you have received yourMICROSAR SIP delivery.

For the installation of the MICROSAR SIP and tools proceed with chapter Installation on page 4. Theupdate of already installed software is described in chapter Update on page 7. For uninstalling theMICROSAR SIP or tools refer to chapter Uninstalling on page 1. More information can be found in thesection Additional Information on page 9

Note

Information that applies only to specific deliveries is marked accordingly:

> Evaluation Bundles only: This information applies to Evaluation Bundles only.

> MICROSAR Standard SIPs only: This information applies to all MICROSAR SIPdeliveries with the exception of Evaluation Bundles.

The term MICROSAR SIP covers both, Evaluation Bundles and MICROSAR Standard SIPs.

2 Installation

This chapter describes the system requirements and constraints as well as the required installationsteps.

2.1 System Requirements and Constraints

The following system requirements and constraints apply:

> Tool System RequirementsBefore starting tool installation see section System Requirements on page 9.

> Administrator RightsMake sure that you have administrator rights; some setups need them for tool installation.

> Local SIP Installation PathPlease use a local installation path for the MICROSAR SIP. Installation on a network drive may leadto tool performance issues and errors.

> MICROSAR Standard SIPs only: MCAL HandlingMCALs are no longer part of the MICROSAR SIP delivery (exception: Vector is MCAL reseller).For detailed information about MCAL handling, see chapter Integrate and Update MCAL on page 9.

> Evaluation Bundles only: CANoeIf you have to create or edit legacy files like DBC, LDF or FIBEX and you have no CANoe, pleasecontact Vector!

2.2 STEP 1: Install the MICROSAR SIP delivery

You have received two e-mails from Vector:

1. one e-mail with the download link and installation instructions,

2. one e-mail with the password for decrypting the delivery.

If not already done, install your MICROSAR SIP delivery as described in the first e-mail that you havereceived from Vector.

2.3 STEP 2: Install Tools

This section describes the installation of related tools. Please note that the tools depend on the scopeof your order.

Evaluation Bundles only: Your Evaluation Bundle may include more than one license for therespective tools. In this case your delivery will contain multiple folders with the tool installations,named like the serial number of the tool licenses.

2.3.1 GENy AUTOSAR Framework

To install the GENy Framework, proceed as follows:

1. Download the GENy Framework setup (EXE) from the Vector Portal here.The setup contains additional required tools. All included tools are listed in the ReadmeInstall.txtthat

2. Double click on the downloaded GENy_MICROSAR3_Setup.exe.

3. Follow the installation hints.

The GENy Framework and tools are installed to the path you have specified.

Note

The GENy Framework setup includes the DataServer and DaVinci Project Assistant.

2.3.2 DaVinci External Components

To install the DaVinci External Components, proceed as follows:

1. Download the DaVinci External Components from here:http://download.vector.com/davinci/ExternalComponentsSetup.zip

2. Extract the downloaded DaVinci_ExternalComponentsSetup.zip file.

3. Run the extracted DaVinci_ExternalComponentsSetup.exe and follow the installation hints.

The DaVinci External Components are now installed.

2.3.3 DaVinci Configurator Pro

To install DaVinci Configurator Pro, proceed as follows:

1. Download the DaVinci Configurator 4.2.x (latest Service Pack) from Vector Download-Centerwww.vector.com/servicepacks_davinci_CFG/

2. Start the setup.exe of the DaVinci Configurator download and follow the installation hints.

The DaVinci Configurator Pro is now installed.

2.3.4 DaVinci Developer

This section is only relevant if you use DaVinci Developer for creating SWCs.

The DaVinci Developer is delivered separately (not part of the MICROSAR SIP delivery). To install theDaVinci Developer, run the setup.exe of the DaVinci Developer delivery and follow the installationhints.

2.3.5 Evaluation Bundles only: CANdelaStudio

To install and activate CANdelaStudio, proceed as follows:

1. Open ../Vector_AUTOSAR_Solution/CANdela_Studio_x.x_SPx

2. Start the CANdelaStudiInstall.exe and follow the installation hints.

CANdela Studio is installed to the path you have specified.

2.3.6 Evaluation Bundles only: Install CANdela Persistors

CANdela Persistors is required for diagnostic purposes, containing import filters for differentCANdelaStudio versions and installs necessary C++ runtimes.

To install the CANdela Persistors, proceed as follows:

1. Open the path ..\Misc\Diagnostics of your MICROSAR SIP delivery.

2. Double click on SetupPersistorsXP.exe.

3. If you have already installed the latest version of CANdela Persistors, a corresponding dialogappears, and the installation is terminated. Otherwise, follow the installation hints.

CANdela Persistors is installed to the path you have specified.

2.3.7 Additional SIP-specific Tools

To check if the delivery contains additional tools, proceed as follows:

1. Open the Doc folder of the new installed MICROSAR SIP.

2. Check if InstallationGuide_<SIP-specific Tool>.pdf exists.

If the document exits go on with this document and install the SIP-specific tool.

2.4 STEP 3: Activate Tool Licenses

Depending on your order, you have received an e-mail with all information about how to activate yourtool licenses. Please follow these instructions.

2.5 STEP 4: Register MICROSAR SIP

Your MICROSAR SIP must be registered in the Windows registry to make it visible in GENy.

To register your MICROSAR SIP, proceed as follows:

1. Open the root path of your MICROSAR SIP delivery.

2. Double click on SipRegistrationTool.exe. The SIP Registration Tool opens.

3. The path to the VSRT file of your MICROSAR SIP is automatically filled in. Click [Register SIP].

Your MICROSAR SIP is registered in the Windows registry and visible to GENy.

2.6 Next Steps

After you have completed the above-mentioned installation steps, proceed with the Startup Document[3].



3 Update

Note

We recommend to always use the latest Service Pack of Vector tools. Please note thatDaVinci Developer and MICROSAR RTE are closely related so that only compatible versionscan be used together. Check the allowed combinations here: www.vector.com/rte_davinci

3.1 DaVinci External Components

To update your DaVinci External Components, proceed as follows:

1. Download the DaVinci External Components from here:http://download.vector.com/davinci/ExternalComponentsSetup.zip

2. Extract the downloaded DaVinci_ExternalComponentsSetup.zip file.

3. Run DaVinci_ExternalComponentsSetup.exe and follow the installation hints.

The DaVinci External Components are now updated.

Note

Keep your External Components up to date! Always install the latest version of the ExternalComponents. The DaVinci tools will inform you if the External Components on your PC aretoo old.

3.2 DaVinci Configurator Pro

To update the DaVinci Configurator Pro, proceed as follows:

1. Download the DaVinci Configurator 4.2.x (latest Service Pack) from Vector Download-Centerwww.vector.com/servicepacks_davinci_CFG/

2. Start the setup.exe of the DaVinci Configurator and follow the installation hints.

The DaVinci Configurator Pro is now updated.

3.3 DaVinci Developer

To update DaVinci Developer, proceed as follows:

1. Open the Vector Download-Center www.vector.com/servicepacks_davinci_DEV.

2. Download the latest service pack of the DaVinci Developer.

3. Extract the downloaded ZIP file.

4. Run the extracted EXE file and follow the installation hints.

3.4 CANdelaPersistors

Download the latest versions of CANdelaPersistors from www.vector.com.

Note

A Persistor update is necessary if you update your CANdelaStudio.

3.5 GENy Framework

To update your GENY Framework, download the latest version of GENy Framework from the VectorPortal (https://portal.vector.com/updates/GENy_MICROSAR3_Setup).

Information about tool version can be found in ReadmeInstall.txt in the folder of theGENy setup file.

3.6 Evaluation Bundles only: CANdelaStudio

To update CANdelaStudio, proceed as follows:

1. Open the https://vector.com/vi_downloadcenter_en.html

2. Download the latest setup of CANdelaStudio

3. Run CANdelaStudiInstall.exe

4. Open the existing CANdelaStudio folder and copy your license file Activation_libFNP.dll to thenew installation folder.

The CANdelaStudio is now updated.

4.3 Integrate and Update MCAL

Check the delivered MICROSAR SIP, if .\Doc\ReleaseNotes\ReleaseNotes_3rdPartyMCAL_VectorIntegration.pdf exists. If the file exists, read the MCAL-specific information. If the file doesnot exist, ignore this section.

For new deliveries, MCALs are not longer part of the MICROSAR SIP delivery (exception: Vector isMCAL reseller). Now you have to order the necessary MCALs directely from the HardwareManufacturer.

The MICROSAR SIP includes a script, which includes the MCAL. You can find the Script_MCAL_Prepare.bat within the following path: ThirdParty\<MCAL_µC>\VectorIntegration\.

Note

If you want to update your MCAL, you have to execute the Script_MCAL_Prepare.batonce again.

Which MICROSAR RTE Version is used

You can find the used MICRSOAR RTE Version in the Delivery Description of the deliveredVector MICROSAR SIP (SIP Version).

The DeliveryDescription_ CBDxxxxxxx.html is stored at the Doc | DeliveryInformationfolder of the installed Vector MICROSAR SIP.

Open DeliveryDescription_<CBDxxx>.html and search for Rte_Asr3 in the ComponentVersion Information section.
