Sister Dora I recd your welcome lettera few days ago was very glad to hear from you so will now endeavor to ans it.My health is very good and the weatheris excellent have rain quite frequently Since we were put in the 7th the same[?] mad all this time that I get alongnicely we do not claim any relationshipalthough they would like to have us –We have just got back from our trip upvalley – had a little fight the 21st therewas four wounded and one killed in ourBattalion we are now in camp have beenbuilding Breast works quite likely weshall stay here some days John Mcarrived here “with his Brother” beforethe fight & had a very narrow escape

Write soon and excuse this for I am in a hurry–––––––––––––––––a spent ball struck him on the topof his hand and [?] him someso he has not fairly got over it yet – butnothing serious. You seem to write everyletter as though I was very homesick whichI am not so do not do it any morebecause a fillow is a little discourageddont think I am homesick – there is agreat diference in the two. You did nottell me where to direct this letter so Ishall send it to Garland the same as theother ho long a stay do you intend tomake please let me know in yournext I hope you will have as good timeas you intended too. And I will haveas good a time as Old Samuel willlet me
