DAY ONE

DAY TWO8:00am Whip up a family breakfast and chat about the activities you’re most excited for, as you dine in-rental, enjoying the views of the mountains around you.

10:00am Head to Downtown Gatlinburg to explore. It is an easily walkable downtown area, and you can get your bearings while checking out the local shops.

12:00pm When you’re getting hungry, head to Loco Burro Fresh Mex Cantina. This restaurant has a great rooftop where you can take in the mountain air over some yummy tacos.

1:30pm fter lunch, it’s time to take in the best view of the Smokies you can find in Gatlinburg: the Gatlinburg Space Needle. Ride the glass elevator up more than 400 feet, and step out onto the 360-degree viewing deck. You will be rewarded by a panoramic view of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

6:00pm For dinner, try some classic Southern Barbecue at Calhoun’s.

Insider Tip: Sample the local classics like fried green tomatoes, char-grilled shrimp, and the hickory-smoked barbeque pork sandwich.

DAY THREE7:00am Rise and shine! Make a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, and hash browns to fuel you up for the day. Pack up sandwiches, snacks, and plenty of water for a hike.

8:00am Head to the National Park for an outdoor adventure: an eight-hour guided waterfall hike with A Walk in the Woods.

Insider Tip: Looking for something less strenuous? They offer a variety of walks and hikes from two-hour strolls to twelve-hour treks. Schedules vary, so call ahead to make reservations.

4:00pm After an adventurous day of trail hiking, waterfall-viewing, and picnicking in the woods, head back to your rental for some much needed R&R. Shower and take a well-deserved nap before starting dinner.

7:00pm Have everyone pitch in for a homemade dinner in your rental! Making your own pizza is always a crowd-pleaser.

8:30pm After dinner, snuggle up together by the fireplace for a family movie night.

DAY FOUR

9:00am Sleep in a bit! Then treat yourself to a bounty of breakfast at the local favorite, Pancake Pantry.

Insider Tip: You can’t go wrong with the classic Old Fashioned Buttermilk Pancakes. If you’re feeling adventurous, go with a creative option like Austrian Apple-Walnut.

10:30am Head down the road to Anakeesta, one of the newest Gatlinburg attractions opening Summer 2017. Take a 12-minute gondola ride up to the mountain peak, which is home to Firefly Village. Explore unique shopping and dining while taking in spectacular views of Mt. LeConte and Downtown Gatlinburg.

12:00pm Grab lunch in one of the Anakeesta restaurants – there are many to choose from!

1:30pm Add a thrill to your afternoon in Anakeesta: zip lining, a high-speed mountain coaster, and a canopy bridge walk offer exciting and unique ways to take in the vistas.

Insider Tip: There’s also a treehouse playground for the little ones.

6:00pm Head to Ober Gatlinburg, a fun marketplace with an aerial tram and family activities. You can also eat at their restaurant, which pairs great food with a wonderful view.

8:00pm After dinner, have the grandparents take the kids back to the rental. Then take a trip to Sugarlands Distillery for a blending sampling tour. Your group will get a 30-minute private tour and see how the famous moonshine is made. The experience includes a private lesson on mixology, where you will learn five ways the moonshine can be mixed into tasty cocktails for the of-age participants.

DAY FIVE

9:00am Today, enjoy a relaxed breakfast in your vacation rental, and then get ready for a leisurely day outdoors. Pack up a picnic lunch to bring along with you.

10:30am By Day Five, you’ll be ready to slow down the pace a bit, so enjoy a drive through the mountains. Stop by the Sugarlands Visitor Center to map out your route. Begin with a drive on the Newfound Gap Road, and take in the mountain views as you go.

12:00pm Along your scenic drive, hop out for a quick stroll, and enjoy your picnic lunch surrounded by nature..

Insider Tip: Black bears call the Smokies home, so make sure to eat in the picnic areas and take any trash with you.

2:00pm After a leisurely morning and picnic, head to Five Oaks Riding Stables for a horseback riding adventure.

6:00pm After a day of mountain fun, head back to your rental and cook up a homemade dinner. If your rental has a grill, throw some burgers on and whip up your favorite sides.

8:00pm When everyone’s had their fill, kick off a family game night!

DAY SIX

8:00am Pancake houses are the area favorite, so hit another one while you’re in town! Start the day with a hearty breakfast at Log Cabin Pancake House.

10:00am Embark on a whitewater rafting adventure with Nantahala Outdoor Center. Pick a package that fits everyone’s ability levels, and hit the rapids!

Insider Tip: Be sure to make your group a reservation in advance.

3:00pm After a day on the river, head back to your rental home to freshen up and relax. Take a dip in the pool, if your rental has access to one, or take a soak in the hot tub while daydreaming over those mountain views.

5:00pm Before dinner, gather the group out on the deck or balcony, and enjoy some appetizers, Shirley Temples and cocktails. Relive highlights from your morning’s adventure!

6:00pm Have dinner out on the town at The Peddler Steakhouse.

12:00pm Don’t leave town without a leisurely lunch – try Three Jimmy’s, and take advantage of the outdoor seating.
