changing experience!”

Hi there! I’m Scarlett and I’m the Vice-President for Community and Welfare. University is a life-changing experience, and some students may come across difficulties, but support and advice is always available.

I believe the key to getting the most out of your university experience is by getting involved and engaging with fellow students.

Our Community Networks are a great way to meet others with similar interests and views. Networks are free to join so take a look and see how you can get involved.

Will Anderson – Community & Welfare Officer By getting involved in a Network, I was able to meet some of my best friends and make a real change at UWE.

YOUR EDUCATION

“Together we can

build a united

learning community!”

Hi everyone, my name is JJ and I’m your elected Vice President Education for this academic year. My role is to ensure that your voice is heard on all things relating to your academic experience and education whilst at UWE.

As a student at UWE, you can have your say about the education you will be receiving. Whether you think something needs to be changed on your course, or have ideas for how the university could help you study better, we’re here to listen to you.

I will be working alongside Amelia (Education Officer) and we believe that together, we can build strong learning communities and help to make a difference to students’ lives.

You can find me on Facebook, follow me on Twitter, and get in touch by email – I’d love to hear your views!

Amelia Campbell – Education Officer I hope to focus on issues such as reducing stress and anxiety around exam time, ensuring that students are fully aware of study areas and feel prepared.

If you want to know more, put forward some suggestions or get in touch, then email me at [email protected]

I would love to hear from you!

Student Reps are the vital link between students, the university and the Students’ Union.

Every course at every level will have at least one Student Rep. They actively seek your views on your student experience and feed back to the University. Ensuring you get what you want from your course!

Student Reps are elected in the first few weeks of term and anyone can put themselves forward. Your lecturers will provide more information, so listen out for the opportunity to get involved.

Don’t worry if you haven’t done anything like this before as the Students’ Union provides all the support and guidance you will need. It’s a great chance to enhance your personal development and it looks great on your CV.

So if the idea of representing your course appeals to you, make a difference and become a Student Rep!

From improving bus services to reducing hidden costs, together we can make a difference! In February you will be asked to complete the UWE Student Experience Survey, a great chance for you to tell the university what you think!

CAMPUS GUIDE

Each UWE campus has its own character and atmosphere, with the students that study there making them different and unique. Frenchay, Glenside and Bower Ashton are all well connected by busses. Each campus elects its own Campus Officer to represent and promote the voice of the students there.

Campus Officer: Lona Price Jones

Situated in the rolling hills of Gloucestershire, Hartpury campus is home to subjects associated with land-based, animal science and sport science sectors. Covering more than 200 hectares of countryside and woodland, it’s also a renowned venue for equestrian eventing.

I’m Lona and I’m the Hartpury Campus officer. My role is to listen to the Hartpury students and communicate their views and to strengthen ties with UWE.

Campus Officer: Blake Seers

Bower Ashton campus is home to UWE’s Department of Creative Industries; students at Bower are artists, designers, creative writers and media students. Set on the edge of the beautiful parkland of Ashton Court Estate, the campus is close to Hotwells, Bedminster and the city centre.

I aim to make Bower Ashton a community where everyone can integrate together being themselves, without judgement. I’ll also be working to encourage events, exhibitions and other projects.

Frenchay campus is well connected by buses to Glenside campus, Bower Ashton, Bristol Parkway rail station and the city centre.

We are here to represent the views of the Frenchay campus student community. We will be interacting with students on campus to make sure your voice is heard!
