Coaches and Full Time Staff, I wanted to update you on the status of meals in the dining hall beginning this fall. In the past we have had two classes of employees with regard to dining hall meals – those that received 20 meals a year and those that received unlimited meals. Under that system we were spending over $300,000 on coach and staff meals per year. In order to make this benefit more equitable and also reduce costs, beginning this August EVERY full Vme coach and staff member will receive 30 meals for the academic year, roughly one per week. Those can be used for either lunch or dinner (as the dining hall will now be serving dinner to student-‐athletes as well) at any Vme during the academic year. You can use them all in the first 30 days or spread them out over 9 months. The savings from this iniVaVve will also be used to help fund the addiVonal student-‐athlete meals we are now allowed to provide under new NCAA rules. A few other items to note: -‐Lunch will be served M-‐F from 11-‐2, dinner will be served Sun – Thurs. from 5-‐9 pm -‐With the potenVal increase in the number of student-‐athletes now eaVng in our dining hall which only seats 180, we are requesVng that if you are going to eat lunch you do so from 1 to 2pm when there is more seaVng available. For dinner please eat before 6pm. We are expecVng extremely heavy traffic from the student-‐athletes and want to make sure they have a place to sit and do not leave because there is not enough room or because lines are long. The excepVon to this would be coaches who are going to specifically check in on their teams. They may eat at any Vme, but please be cognizant of the crowds. -‐You always have the opVon of going to the dining hall and eaVng lunch for $10 even if you have used up your 30 meals. It is open to the public. Also please know the $10 is a subsidized amount as we pay $17.50 per-‐meal-‐served out of our athleVcs budget. $10 is up from $9.50 last year to make change easier for Sodexo. Also note they do not have the ability to take credit cards. Like any cash business, if you show up without cash you will need to go find some or eat somewhere else that day. -‐These meals are intended to be used for the staff person only. They cannot be shared or transferred to other staff members. If you have a non-‐athleVcs guest you would like to bring occasionally you may use your meals for that purpose. -‐ The use of these meals is not required for team meals, pre game meals, etc. Those conVnue as they have in the past. This is simply the normal dining hall lunch, and now dinner. -‐Finally, for team recruiVng we will have separate accounts set up to allow you to bring recruits and not have it count against your personal account. Coaches will follow the same procedure they have by filling out the RecruiVng Visit Form which Lou Pena and compliance use to record the meal. For

unofficial visits the coach can sVll use this form for himself/herself so as to not have to use their 30 meals for recruiVng. Please let me know if you have any quesVons. Thanks. Dave
