In compliance with St. Louis County Department of Public Health order requiring face coverings, MBU will require students, employees, and visitors to wear face coverings as follows:
Indoors, except for private spaces
Includes hallways, restrooms, classrooms, lobbies, conference rooms, cubicles, etc.
Outdoors if physical distancing measures are difficult to maintain
MBU will provide 1 reusable face covering for those who request one. Please see Student Development office.
Demonstrate personal integrity, respect for others, and support health and safety of the MBU community by:

Monitor for signs and symptoms
Washing hands frequently and thoroughly
Protecting others
Wearing a face covering
Maintain physical distance
Protecting the community
Respect personal space, directional signage
Disinfect living space, personal items
Acceptable face coverings should fit comfort needs of individual and meet CDC recommendations

Wash hands or use hand sanitizer prior to handling the face covering
Ensure the face covering fits over the nose and under the chin
Avoid touching the front of the face covering
Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth when removing the face covering
Wash hands or use hand sanitizer immediately after removing
Keep face coverings in a paper bag or breathable container when not in use
Some people are unable to wear a face covering due to lung or other health-related conditions.
Contact the Dean of Students Office ([email protected]) if you are unable to wear a face covering for these reasons and need an accommodation.
Medical documentation will be requested as the University works to provide the accommodation through an interactive process.
Housekeeping will increase frequency of disinfection of high-touch areas and public use areas
Disinfecting supplies (wipes) available in classrooms
Students expected to disinfect classroom desk before and after using
Faculty will disinfect lecture podium, keyboard, mouse, etc. before and after using
For shared/common space such as the Learning Center space or other meeting rooms, users are expected to disinfect their areas before leaving
Electrostatic sprayers will be used in residence halls and athletic locker rooms
Students should self-screen for symptoms before coming to campus each day
Complete self-assessment prior to arriving on campus (new MBU app forthcoming for fall semester)
If green badge, proceed to campus
If red badge, follow instructions for isolation, testing, and quarantine
Temperature checks
Recommended that students routinely check their temperature
Required for participating in athletics, fitness center or group fitness activities.
One or more of the following:
Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Congestion
Muscle/body aches
Headache
Sore throat
Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
New loss of smell or taste
Emergency warning signs
Trouble breathing
Persistent pain or pressure in chest
New confusion
Inability to wake or stay awake
Bluish lips or face
Stay home or go home if already on campus
Use Contact Tracing Form (MBU Returns to Campus website) to initiate contact tracing protocol
Contact healthcare provider
If testing is recommended, remain at home until results are available. Follow directives of healthcare provider.
If testing is not recommended, remain at home until:
24 hours of no fever, AND
Respiratory symptoms have improved, AND
10 days since symptoms first appeared, OR
Cleared by healthcare provider
Complete Contact Tracing Form if positive result for contact tracing purposes
Remain home until

Once cleared by a healthcare professional, complete the COVID-19 Request to Return to Campus Form (MBU Returns to Campus website)
Classroom capacities are reduced
Increased use of blended instructional models
Check your MBU email and individual course Canvas shells for more detailed information
Students should monitor temperatures and symptoms prior to attending class
COVID-19 badge (with appropriate time/date stamp) can be shown on smartphones for entry to class
Students not complying with classroom and lab protocols will be asked to leave until compliance can be maintained.
Public Safety will be contacted if a student refuses to leave or comply
Failure to comply will be treated as violation of student conduct code and referred to the Dean of Students for disciplinary action ([email protected])
Use of seating chart and daily attendance records will be kept for all class meetings for contact tracing purposes
Students will not be penalized academically for missing class due to COVID-19 related symptoms
Students should wipe down desks before and after class
If hallways are crowded, instructors may delay release of students until hallway clears to reduce crowding
Students are to contact faculty if they feel unsafe attending to determine how to fulfill course requirements
Students should understand that they may have to withdraw from the course if high-level of class participation requirements cannot be fulfilled virtually

Only resident students allowed in residence halls (suspending guest policy)
Face coverings required in common spaces (hallways, lobbies, etc.)
Reconfigured lounge and common area furniture to comply with distancing guidelines
Isolation and quarantine spaces provided for students who think they have been exposed, those exhibiting symptoms, or those testing positive for COVID-19

Encourage use of technology platforms (Google Meet, Microsoft Teams) to conduct virtual meetings when possible
MBU Athletics has created guiding document that outlines specific measures being taken to protect student athletes
Included measures
Temperature checks and assessment screenings prior to team meetings, practices, and competitions in accordance with AMC COVID guidelines
Increased cleaning/sanitation of common use areas
PPE for athletic trainers, coaches, non-participating athletes
Modified spectator protocols depending on the sport (e.g. indoor vs. outdoor)
Elimination of non-essential travel
Practice physical distancing, maintaining 6 feet of distance between individuals when at all possible
Respect others’ space by wearing mask and adhering to directional signage in hallways, stairwells, and other locations on campus
If inviting a visitor to campus, please communicate the protocol for self-assessment screening prior to their arrival
Providing dishonest responses to the health self-assessment report, or knowingly coming to campus if exposed to or testing positive for COVID-19, will be considered a violation of the student code of conduct and will be referred to the Dean of Students for disciplinary action
