dependent on a single source
of income, which helps a person feel good about

When people are at a crossroads in their life, they’re

Dennis got his start with Herbalife during a
recession. “I was looking for an opportunity,” he
says, “so I went to a meeting and heard Mark
Hughes talk about making a difference in people’s
lives. That’s when I knew this business was different
and that I wanted to be a part of it. This is the fourth
recession I’ve seen, and business is great,” he says.

The Link Between Obesity and Cardiovascular HealthAmong the many reasons to maintaina healthy weight, the best may be topromote your heart health.
The medical community has long observed anincreased risk of developing heart problems inoverweight patients. A recent study shows thatobesity itself, and not just the associated healthconditions, can lead to significant strain on theheart. The study also demonstrates that excessbody weight – even in people who are notconsidered obese – substantially increases therisk of heart problems.
The investigators followed 5,881 obese or merelyoverweight individuals enrolled in the FraminghamHeart Study† for an average of 14 years. Coaching. It’s a simple and proven way to build relationships,
increase product sales, and retain long-term customers.
President’s Team members Meg and Paul Lile have been
Herbalife Distributors for 18 years and have always believed in
the concept of coaching. “As we moved up the Marketing
Plan, we realized how important coaching is,” says Meg. “It’s
where you’re going to make or break your business.”
Meg continues, “Coaches are leaders. And when you help
people develop the skills that are necessary to become
leaders too, that’s where the business really starts to grow.”
BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS
“Coaching comes down to relationship building,” says Meg.
“We’re there to cheer for their success and support them if
they have a problem. Sometimes all it takes is saying, ‘If you
just stick with it, you’re going to see results.’”
Meg also makes sure to follow up with her customers. “If you
do a good follow-up, you’ve established trust and credibility
as a coach,” she says. “This is so important for maintaining
relationships and creating long-term customers.”
GOAL SETTING
One technique Meg uses in coaching is to help customers
set clearly defined goals. “Setting goals is so important
because it helps people have a road map to where they want
to go,” explains Meg. “I help them determine how much
weight they want to lose and set a course to get them there.”
Meg knows that accountability is also a key in helping
people reach their goals. “I do lots of one-on-ones and
have an accountability board,” she says. “When they know
they have to report their product results to me, they’re
immediately held accountable.” Meg adds, “People always
seem to work harder when they have to be accountable to
someone else.”
SEEING RESULTS
President’s Team member Mette Hyldgaard has seen her
coaching skills rise to another level through Weight Loss
Challenges. “I used to just recommend products to people,”
explains Mette. “Now as a Weight Loss Challenge coach, I’m
even more focused and committed because I’m directly
involved in their performance and results. I’m 1,000 percent
committed to coaching people and helping them achieve their
goals. I feel like a sports coach!”
Mette has also seen an increase in her retailing. “I’ve used a
lot of retailing methods, but coaching is better than anything
I’ve ever tried,” she says. “Good coaching is supporting – and
challenging – others to do better.”
But it’s her customers’ success that has Mette the most
excited. “My customers have received extraordinary results
like I’ve never seen before,” she says. “It’s unbelievably

Jenny’s young mother was a victim of physical abuseand homelessness who, out of desperation, turned toprostitution to try to support her two young children.But in order to provide JENNY and her brother with abetter upbringing, their mother entrusted their care tothe staff of the Hong Hua Orphanage in Taiwan, hometo a Casa Herbalife program since 2008. RU D Y was living with his mother and three siblings inBolivia. They shared a one-room shack with brick walls,an aluminum roof and no insulation.
