before you start using your ABN AMRO Professional Card
Signature Before you start using your ABN AMRO Professional Card please
sign the strip on the back of the credit card, using a blue or black
ballpoint pen. This is to prevent the likelihood of unauthorised use
of your credit card. When you make payments that do not require
your PIN, you will need to confirm the purchase with your
signature.
Conditions
By signing and/or using your credit card you agree to be bound by
the applicable conditions that you received with your credit card.
Paying safely and easily using your PIN
The ABN AMRO Professional Card is equipped with a chip.
This chip has been developed to make payments even safer.
In combination with the PIN belonging to your credit card the chip
gives you even better protection against the risk and inconvenience
of fraud. On the one hand because the chip stores your details
very securely and on the other hand because in practice use of
a PIN is safer than a signature. This means that your ABN AMRO
Professional Card complies with the global security standard and
facilities that are currently being introduced in many countries.
PIN
Your PIN will be sent to you separately from your ABN AMRO
Professional Card. You can use your credit card and PIN to make
payments and if necessary to withdraw cash. Learn the PIN off by
heart and destroy the letter containing your PIN in order to prevent
improper use.

You can change your PIN as follows:
▶ Take your activated ABN AMRO Professional Card to
an ABN AMRO cash dispenser (in the Netherlands).
▶ Insert your credit card.
▶ Follow the instructions on the screen.
▶ Select a PIN that is easy for you to remember.
NB ▶ You have to know the PIN that you received at the same time as
your credit card in order to be able to change it.
▶ Do not choose an obvious PIN, such as your postcode, date of birth
or simple number combinations, such as 1234, 4321 or 0000.
▶ You are obliged to keep your chosen PIN secret.
Payment with your PIN A credit card payment using your PIN is fast and simple. Once
you have verified the amount, you enter your PIN in the equipment
provided to approve the payment. You will then no longer need to
sign for payments.
NB In the Netherlands and in more and more surrounding countries a
PIN rather than a signature is requested for credit card payments.
Forgotten your PIN?If you have forgotten your PIN, call ABN AMRO Credit Card
Services on +31 (0)342 - 429 004 to re-request your PIN.

Professional Card in this brochure and the applicable conditions.
It is therefore convenient to keep the brochure with your papers.

information about the possibilities and use of your credit card.

7Before you start using your ABN AMRO Professional Card
Validity Your ABN AMRO Professional Card is valid for two years. The front
of your credit card shows the expiry date. If it says ‘valid thru 05/11’,
for instance, your credit card is valid until the end of May 2011.
A few weeks before your credit card expires, you will automatically
receive a new card. Once you have activated the new card, you can
start using it immediately. Your PIN remains the same. Do not forget
to destroy your old credit card by cutting it up.
When cutting up your old credit card, cut through both the computer chip and the hologram, to prevent unauthorised use. The hologram is on the back of the credit card.
Spending limit Your ABN AMRO Professional Card gives you a financial facility
to make payments up to a specific amount: this is your spending
limit. This limit varies from EUR 1,000.- to EUR 10,000.- a month.
This amount may be raised or lowered in consultation between
you and ABN AMRO. The limit is also indicated on your monthly
statement.

Paying with your ABN AMRO Professional Card You can use your ABN AMRO Professional Card to make payments
anywhere in the world, at over 25 million outlets. You will recognise
the locations at which you can use your credit card by the
MasterCard logo, which is also displayed on the front of your
credit card.
MasterCard is accepted worldwide and the MasterCard logo is recognised everywhere. You therefore always have the right ‘money’, wherever you are.
The procedure for paying with your ABN AMRO Professional Card using signature or PIN is as follows1. Make sure that you never let your credit card out
of your sight.
If you hand over your card, accompany the sales assistant
or waiter to the cash register.
You may be asked for proof of identity when making a payment
by credit card.
2. The recipient or shopkeeper may request authorisation
for the payment.
This authorisation will be obtained via the terminal, telephone
or internet and is associated among other things with security.
If you have sufficient available credit and the card has not been
reported missing, the payment will be authorised.
3. Check the amount before you approve payment with
your signature or PIN.
In future you will increasingly make payments using your
credit card’s PIN. If the recipient or shop does not yet use
the PIN method, you will be required to approve the payment
by signing the transaction slip.

4. You will be given a copy of the transaction slip.
Keep this. On your monthly statement you will find the details
of all transactions: amount, date and location. You can also
view this via Credit Card Online.
Keep the transaction slips that you receive when paying with your
credit card. You can use them later to check your monthly statement.
They can also be used as evidence if required.
Paying on the internet or by telephone Your ABN AMRO Professional Card is ideally suited for making
purchases on the internet or by telephone. In addition to your
credit card number, you will also be asked for the expiry date and
the Card Validation Code (CVC) when making a purchase. This code
is unique to your credit card and serves as an additional security
check. There is a number on the signature strip on the back of
your card. The last three digits of this number are your CVC code.

Paying abroad Your ABN AMRO Professional Card offers you the facility of
convenient payment at approximately 25 million addresses
worldwide. In most cases payment with your ABN AMRO
Professional Card is free of charge. An exchange rate supplement
applies to purchases in foreign currencies. You will find further
information about charges at abnamro.nl/tarieven
No deposit Your ABN AMRO Professional Card is ideally suited for hiring a car
or boat. In most cases you will not have to pay a deposit if you are
paying by credit card. In many countries it is in fact impossible to
hire a car or boat without a credit card.

11Paying with your card
Withdrawals from cash dispensers You can use your ABN AMRO Professional Card to make cash
withdrawals from any of more than 900,000 cash dispensers
worldwide. You will always need your credit card’s PIN for this
purpose. The maximum daily withdrawal from a cash dispenser
may vary from country to country, but is usually around EUR 400.-
at a time, with a maximum of two withdrawals a day (provided
that your spending limit is sufficient).
Costs are charged for cash withdrawals.

Withdrawals from banks In many countries banks will allow you to withdraw cash at the
bank’s counter using your credit card and valid identification. This
is usually possible up to a limit of EUR 10,000 provided that your
spending limit is sufficient, but this amount may vary by country
and bank. Costs are charged for withdrawing money at the counter.
Bear in mind that the bank concerned may also charge a fee.
Cash dispensers and banks at which you can withdraw money using
your credit card are identified by the MasterCard logo. You will find

Monthly settlement When you use your ABN AMRO Professional Card the account will
be settled monthly by direct debit. The date of the debit is indicated
on your monthly statement.
Monthly statement on paper Every month you will receive a clear statement itemising all
transactions. You can also see on your monthly statement what
your spending limit is and how much of that limit is still available.
Use of an ABN AMRO Professional Card makes your financial accounting much simpler.

Examine your transactions onlineYou can check all your transactions since your latest monthly
statement in real-time at abnamro.nl/professionalcard. You can
also check all your previous transactions going back up to seven
months. And you can verify your limit and the credit amount still
available.
If you have any questions about your transactions or your monthly
statement, please call ABN AMRO Credit Card Services on:

your credit card.

Tips for safe use of your ABN AMRO Professional Card
1. Before you start using your ABN AMRO Professional Card,
place your signature in the strip intended for this purpose
on the back of the card.
2. Memorise the PIN and destroy the letter disclosing the PIN.
3. If desired, change your PIN to a combination that is easy
for you to remember.
4. Do not let your credit card out of your sight. When you
make a payment accompany the sales assistant to the
cash register.
5. Check the amount before you approve a payment with
your signature or PIN.
6. Never disclose your credit card number unnecessarily.
You should only do so when making a purchase or
a reservation.
Payments made using your credit card PIN are even more secure.
You can read more about this at the beginning of this brochure.

In principle no cardholder’s liability in the event of loss or theftIf you discover that your ABN AMRO Professional Card has been
lost or stolen, you must report this immediately to ABN AMRO
Credit Card Services on +31 (0)342 - 429 004. As soon as you
have reported the loss or theft your credit card will be blocked
immediately. If you relocate your old credit card after reporting
it lost, it is no longer valid. You should destroy it by cutting through
both the chip and the hologram. If your credit card is lost or stolen,
always report this to the police, including when you are outside
the Netherlands.
Quick replacement credit card If you lose your ABN AMRO Professional Card while abroad or if
it is stolen, you can make use of the Emergency Card Replacement
Service. You will receive a replacement credit card within 48 hours
(depending on the local circumstances). This credit card will not
have a PIN and will automatically be replaced by an ABN AMRO
Professional Card after three months. Charges are made for the
Emergency Card Replacement Service.
16 Security
Purchase protection insuranceVirtually all purchases that you make using your credit card,
anywhere in the world, are insured for six months (180 days)
after the date of purchase against loss, theft or damage.
A good reason to pay for all your purchases using your
ABN AMRO Professional Card.
Card Insurance: free travel cover package The Card Insurance gives you three types of insurance for mishaps
or emergencies while travelling:
▶ Flight delay insurance
If your flight departs more than four hours late, any expenses you
incur for meals will be refunded up to a maximum of EUR 140.-.
▶ Luggage delay insurance
If your luggage arrives at your destination more than four hours
late, this insurance covers relevant expenses, such as clothing
and toiletries up to a maximum of EUR 140.-. If your luggage
has still not arrived after 48 hours, a further amount will be
reimbursed up to a maximum of EUR 410.-.
▶ Supplementary traveller’s accident insurance
In certain cases of invalidity resulting from an accident, or in the
case of death, this insurance provides for an additional one-off
payment. In the first case to you or in the case of your death,
to your legal heir.
Card Insurance applies on condition that you are travelling.
A journey commences at the time you leave your home and
ends as soon as you are back there. You can only benefit from
this insurance package if you pay for the trip and your travel
expenses with your credit card.

Card Support: assistance in the case of emergenciesThis free service offers you assistance and advice in the event
of unforeseen situations, such as loss or theft of travel and other
documents, personal injury, illness or death.
Card Support offers you support in the case of:

18 Insurance
Simple reclaiming of your foreign VAT with the VAT Reclaimer ServiceWith the VAT Reclaimer Service you can easily reclaim VAT
that you have paid outside the Netherlands.
How does it work?
▶ Register yourself online at
abnamro.meridianglobalservices.com
▶ You will receive a confirmation email with a copy of the contract
and a summary of the steps to be taken.
▶ You should sign the contract and return it to Meridian.
▶ You will then receive instructions for registering with
the Dutch tax authorities at the foreign VAT portal.
▶ Register with the tax authorities’ VAT portal.
▶ After two weeks you will receive a reminder to authorise
Meridian to reclaim foreign VAT on your behalf.
Once you have completed these steps you can start using the
VAT Reclaimer Service. You will receive periodic emails reminding
you to send your receipts in to Meridian. These emails will also
indicate what can be reclaimed and what deadline Meridian applies
for submission of the receipts. These reminders are sent at various
times of the year. You may submit your receipts throughout the
year, but you have to have sent in all your receipts by September
in order to be able to reclaim the VAT for that year. The receipts
for the months October, November and December are processed
in the following year. If the date for submission of the receipts
changes, Meridian will advise this in advance of such change.

What to do in the case of loss or theft? ▶ Report loss or theft of your credit card immediately to
ABN AMRO Credit Card Services on 0342 - 429 004 (local rate
in the Netherlands). If calling from abroad: +31 342 - 429 004.
▶ Always report loss or theft of your credit card to the police,
including when you are abroad. Keep a copy of the
police report.
Ensure that you have made a record somewhere of your credit card number and the telephone numbers on the back of your card so that, in the event of loss or theft, you can give your details to the police and ABN AMRO.
Don’t agree with a payment? If you don’t agree with a payment indicated on your monthly
statement, contact ABN AMRO Credit Card Services immediately
on 0342 - 429 004. If calling from abroad: +31 342 - 429 004.
You will then receive a form on which you can dispute the
payment.
A request for a payment to be recredited should have been
received by ABN AMRO in writing not later than 30 days after
the date of the monthly statement.
The payment can be recredited, after which ABN AMRO Credit
Card Services will investigate the matter. If it emerges that the
payment should not have been corrected, it will be charged again,
plus any costs that may have arisen.
