What are journals / ejournals?• ‘Magazines’ with academic content.• Usually published monthly or quarterly.• Contain current research – usually primary
research.• Useful for up-to-date information.• Useful for getting a range of different
opinions about a subject.• Ejournals are online versions of print journals.
![Page 15: Using the Library catalogue and accessing ejournals](https://reader033.vdocuments.site/reader033/viewer/2022061610/568161cc550346895dd1b6ea/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Understanding a journal reference• How can you tell the difference between a
book and a journal article when looking at your reading list?
• Book references usually include the place of publication and the name of the publisher.
• Journal references include volume and issue details and the page numbers that the article appears on.
![Page 16: Using the Library catalogue and accessing ejournals](https://reader033.vdocuments.site/reader033/viewer/2022061610/568161cc550346895dd1b6ea/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)

![Page 19: Using the Library catalogue and accessing ejournals](https://reader033.vdocuments.site/reader033/viewer/2022061610/568161cc550346895dd1b6ea/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)

the date range for the link you have selected• E.g. Novak, S. (2008) “How Does Outsourcing
Affect Performance Dynamics?” Management Science. Vol. 54 (12): 1963-1979.
