“When I make a beat with the MPC I have to physically record the tracks one at a
time into my DAW. This loses a little quality and takes alot of time, When i
create with my Laptop everything stays within the DAW and is instantly ready to process more and mix without any loss
of quality”

FAST FACTS
• Sending session files via the web 5000 miles away takes minutes while sending beat disks and tape through the mail is Slow
• Some hardware can now transfer to wav files but unit takes longer to save and there is always o chance of files missing parts which happens often with an MPC
• Computers can easily download files from net and transfer to and from file formats with ease.
• Computers have thousands of apps available from program developers and users to help with formats , audio editing and realtime online collaboration while dedicated hardware has a few apps and plugins available from the factory that makes the unit

“Artists have sent me files that i retrieved on my phone while driving and I have made changes with my
phone to a project and sent them back within the hour!” Although its a personal preferance to still
wanna use my MPC. I think the computer is the majority format”
“The MPC has a sound all of its own but it is limited to a certain sound. The computer can emulate the sound
of the MPC and do a thousand other things”

“For the last 10 years ive seen my business of selling sounds for Hardware drum machine units drop in Half! while selling discs with wave files still selling strong. I beleive that more producers are abandoning hardware because of the power of the laptop. 10 years ago a computer could not even come close to the power of the MPC, today the reverse
is true!”
