University System of Georgia Dual Enrollment Admission Requirements

The University System of Georgia (USG) offers many opportunities for high school students to enrich their high school experience and to get a jump start on college. This document provides the dual enrollment admission requirements for each of the USG colleges and universities. All USG dual enrollment applicants must submit an official high school transcript showing they are on-track for completing their high school graduation requirements and the USG’s Required High School Curriculum as outlined on the Staying on Course document, a completed Student Participation Agreement, and official SAT or ACT scores (if required by the college or university). Students planning to take courses on the college or university campus must satisfy the immunization requirement.

Only courses listed on the Dual Enrollment Course Directory for the college or university the student attends are funded through Georgia’s Dual Enrollment program. Students may be responsible for some costs associated with participating in Dual Enrollment, such as course or lab fees/supplies, fees charged for late or damaged textbooks, parking fees, and fees associated with participating in optional activities.

Rev. 02/27/2019 – SA/SW 12 | P a g e

NOTES GENERAL NOTES Please note that admission requirements are subject to change. Meeting the minimum requirements provided in this document does not guarantee admission to any USG college or university. Eligibility for admission is determined after a complete review of an applicant’s credentials. Admission does not guarantee enrollment in a specific course. The Dual Enrollment Course Directory should be consulted for course prerequisites and co-requisites. Additional test scores may be required for placement into specific courses such as College Algebra. Students placing in Learning Support, including co-requisite Learning Support courses, are not eligible for participation. Questions regarding admission to a specific USG college or university should be directed to that institution. General questions regarding this document should be directed to the USG’s Office of Student Affairs by emailing [email protected] or calling 404-962-3110. FOOTNOTES 1 The High School GPA (HSGPA) is calculated using the 17 units of the Required High School Curriculum (RHSC) as outlined on the USG’s Staying on Course document. The HSGPA is calculated on an alpha four-point scale. Numerical grades provided on high school transcripts are converted to letter grades based on the conversion table provided by the high school. The letter grades are converted to quality points as follows: A = 4 B = 3 C = 2 D = 1 F = 0

2 The SAT FI formula uses the Old (pre-March 2016) SAT. New (March 2016 or later) SAT scores are converted to the comparable old SAT scores using the College Board conversion tables. New SAT Reading test scores are converted to comparable old SAT Critical Reading section scores and new SAT Math scores are converted to comparable old SAT Math section scores. The SAT FI formula is:

500 x (HSGPA) + Old SAT Critical Reading section score + Old SAT Math section score The ACT FI formula is: 500 x (HSGPA) + (ACT Composite x 42) + 88
