What purpose does the application serve?It is possible to use the TICK tracker application on all devices with operating systems Android 4.1+ and iOS 9+. It is used to display data from GPS devices produced by NAM system, a.s.

Some specialized settings and/or functions can only be displayed on the web platform: www.namsystem.net/v2.

For all actions and processes described in this manual a stable internet connection is required. Make sure you have access to it before you start using the application and/or registering your new TICK devices.

1. FIRST LAUNCH OF TICK TRACKERWhen the application is first launched it automati-cally displays short infographics about the basic operation of the application. Individual pages are navigated between by swiping left.

Skip to the login screen immediately by tapping SKIP anytime during the infographics display.

To proceed to the login page tap CONTINUE on the last infographics page.

1.1 LoginCurrent TICK tracker users

Once the opening infographics finish, the loginwindow will appear. The login details for the mo-bile application are the same as for the login to NAM system web platform:

New TICK tracker users

Create your new login information via the link REGISTER NEW ACCOUNT

This link will cause a new window inside the appli-cation to open.

Pleasefillinallrequiredaccountregistrationdetails.Makesurealltheinformationiscorrectandconfirmthe registration by clicking on the REGISTER box.

Type into each box the current login details of the account that you wish to connect to, e.g.

•Firstname

•Lastname

•E-mail

•Password

•Confirmpassword

Into the boxes E-mail and Password enter the new details with which you will login to TICK tracker app.

Press the green button .

After filling in the details, a message from the NAM system e-mail account will appear in your inbox.Confirmtheregistratione-mailbyclickingthelink.

The confirmation link is only valid for 60 minutesfrom the time you click the REGISTER button.

The confirmation link opens awebbrowser page.Onceregistrationisconfirmed,continuebacktotheTICK tracker application login screen.

1.2. Logging into the applicationAt the login screen, write your account details in the corresponding boxes. Your registered e-mail address and password will be required.

Use the same account details as used in the regis-tration form.

By ticking REMEMBER PASSWORD you can save the password in the memory of the device. Only use this though in protected devices (e.g. by password,gestureunlock,fingerprint,etc.).

In the TICK tracker application it is possible to quickly switch between more than one account that have the same e-mail and password (see section 3.).

Once successfully logged in, the new account is empty. A simple warning tab “No Assets!” may appear.

1.3. Add a new deviceTo add a new TICK GPS device to the account, tap the icon

After tapping the icon, a new window will appear. For successful tracker registration two details are required:

1. The device’s serial number

2. Control check code

Both can be found easily – they are printed on the outer casing of the device.

Write both codes in the corresponding boxes using the keyboard and click the REGISTER box.

If an error occurs during TICK registration, repeat the process. Check both codes for correct input or-der, character order and total length.

Any time you encounter problems with creating the account, renewing passwords, other issues with the application or your GPS devices, please send details to [email protected] or contact the NAM system control centre (tel. +420 737 900 300).

Either successful or unsuccessful registration attempts are displayed to you immediately.

This step can be repeated until every purchased GPS device is added.

1.4 Forgotten passwordRenew a forgotten account password using the link FORGOTTEN PASSWORD?

A new window inside the application will open. Write the account login e-mail address and press SEND button.

Ashortconfirmationtextwillappear.

Continue according to the instructions in your e-mail inbox and create a new password. In order to com-plete this renewal, access to the registered e-mail address inbox will be necessary.

The link for password renewal is valid for 60 minutes only.

Further information on how to operate the TICK tra-cker application can be found directly in the applica-tion by selecting the HELP option.

2. LIST OF ASSETSThis is the default display in the application. If there is at least one Asset registered in the given account, the Asset icon and basic details of it will be displa-yed.

Duringthefirstlaunch,simplehelphintswillalsobedisplayed, showing the basic method of operating the TICK tracker application.

Each GPS device in the account has its own tile. It shows:

Colour symbol at bottom of icon indicates:

Four quick actions are possible in the list of Assets.

• Mainmenu(seesection3)

Display all Assets on map shows the last known locations of all Assets in the account on a map.

Assets are arranged in the list according to the “age” of the Asset – the date it was loaded into NAM system.

It is also possible to list Assets alphabetically in descending or ascending order. It is possible to switch between these at any time.

Tapping on the Notifications list opens a list of the lastreceivednotifications.Tappingonaspecificno-tificationopensawindowwithadetaileddescription,date and time of receipt.

In the Searchfield,itispossibletofilterallAssetsbywriting text. Assets with given text will appear.

Each Asset tile allows the following actions:

1. Opening of the window of a specific Asset (by tapping on the Asset tile) – after tapping on this it immediately turns grey

2. Quickchoice(byswipingfingerleftwardsacross the tile)

2.1.1 Asset detail menuTapping anywhere on the upper toolbar (which includes the icon) opens details of the Asset.

It is possible to choose the following for each Asset:

•Colour•Icon•Name

All changesmust be confirmedbefore closing thewindow, using the SAVE button.

2.1.2 Asset bookmarksThrough this menu it is possible to quickly move to one of the three available bookmarks:

Please note: SHOW ME and NAVIGATE options require active GPS services on your mobile devi-ce. The use of these options without GPS is not possible.

Using external navigation

Clicking on the NAVIGATE button opens an appli-cation for navigating to the present location of the Asset.

When opening, it is possible to choose pre-installed applications that are on the device (e.g. the default application on Android is Google Maps). User choi-ce of application for navigation can be permanently stored.

After launching a chosen navigation application, a suitable route from the current position of the mo-bile device (start) to the destination (current position of the chosen Asset) is automatically calculated.

2.1.3 MapThere are two types of map available:

• Defaultlayer-OpenStreetMaps • Premiumlayer-GoogleMaps

The last known position of the Asset is always shown on the map. Depending on the map background, it is possible to use these map adjustment tools:

• Switchingofmaplayer(map/satellite) • Zoomin/out • Displayoftrafficdensity(onlyGoogle)

2.1.4 Asset status bar

For faster orientation, there is an Asset status bar that shows the most important information.

2.1.5 Fast actions menu

3 fast actions options are available:

CENTRE - place the GPS position of the Asset to the centre of the map

SHOW ME - display the current mobile device lo-cation compared to the Asset´s last known location

NAVIGATE - start the external navigation software with preset locations of the mobile device and the Asset‘s last known location

silyfindoutinwhichmodetheGPSdeviceissetin.The date and time when the command was sent to the device is also displayed for better orientation.

Please note:

If the TICK portable GPS tracker is placed on a (switched on) charging mat, it is always ready for any immediate mode changes (regardless of the mode currently set on the device).

IMPORTANT

For this to function properly it is necessary to activa-te reception of the GPS signal on the mobile device. ThetimetothefirstvalidGPSlocationfixmaytakeseveral minutes, depending on the current recep-tion conditions. Without the GPS function it is not possible to get a valid location and the TICK tracker application will continually report an error in GPS reception.

2.2 Map in the asset windowThis is the default bookmark of the Asset tile after opening it with a simple tap. For further information, please see section 2.1.

2.3 Asset detailAll known states of the Asset are clearly shown under the bookmark DETAIL. Some rows may re-mainemptydependingon thespecificperipheralsconnectedandtheconfigurationoftheunit.

All information is valid to the date of the last update. The validity of GPS positions is shown separately in the GPS line (date and time in brackets).

Devices send basic status information at least once every 12 hours (technical message). Exceptions to this are modes (see section 2.4.), where the unit is in an energy saving setting – here technical me-ssages are less frequent or not at all.

2.4 CommandsThe TICK GPS device gives the option to choose between 6 modes of operation. The maximum time thatthedevicecanoperateinthefieldwithouttheneed to recharge it is influenced by the specific mode used.

Any compatible GPS device can be switched by com-mands only from within the TICK tracker application.

By opening the COMMANDS bookmark you can ea-

Guarding fast responseGPS position reading is not active and is only triggered when the tra-cker detects vibrations. The tracker is continuously logged into the GSM network and if it detects mo-vementanotificationissentwithin10 seconds. The tracker is ready to immediately receive messages to switch to a different mode e.g. Pursuit.

Guarding power saverGPS position reading is not active and is only triggered when the tra-cker detects vibrations. If the tra-cker detects movement it logs into theGSMnetworkandanotification

Cancelling unwanted switching off

After setting of the “Power OFF” mode the device is switched off. The device will not react to any chan-ges in mode made through the application during the Power OFF mode.It is possible to cancel this request within 10 minutes after sending it by requesting a switch to a different mode. A consequent check of the correct mode change is highly recommended.

Legend key for fast icon orientation:The device records GPS locations during modes marked with this icon.

The device is constantly registered on the GSM network (it is possible to send a command) but does not transmit from the device.

The device does not records GPS locati-ons in modes marked with this icon. The tracker waits for instructions to change the operating mode and therefore saves battery life.

Certain modes may request to set times for how long the tracker should remain in the mode. In these cases, the mode al-ternates between short periods of normal usage (“wake up”) and varying longer pe-riods of economical usage (sleep). When the tracker is in the “sleep” phase it is only possible to reset the mode during the next wake up period or after placing the tracker on the charging mat.

Please note:The Pursuit mode stays active for 60 minutes only, starting from the time of setting the command. When this time elapses, the TICK device automatically switches to Activated by motion mode. The Pur-suit mode can be set repeatedly after this. In cases wherethereisnotasufficientGSMsignalorwherethe GPS device is “sleeping” for a longer period, the situation may occur that the Pursuit mode will be active for less than 60 minutes or not set at all.

is sent within 90 seconds. The tra-cker is ready to receive messages to switch to a different mode e.g. Pursuit at the time when the moni-tored asset moves.

PursuitThe tracker GPS position is sent non-stop every 5 sec. whether it is stationary or in motion. This setup significantlyshortensthetracker’sbattery life.

StandbyGPS positioning is inactive. The tracker is logged into the network non-stop and awaits a GPRS command to switch to another mode.

AsleepGPS positioning is inactive. The tracker logs in to the network once in a given period and GPRS sear-ches for a command to switch to another mode.

Periodic wake upThe tracker wakes up regularly in a given period, locates GPS posi-tion and goes to sleep again. This mode prolongs the tracker’s ope-rating time.

Power OFFThe tracker is completely switched off 10 minutes after this request has been set. All functions are switched off. The tracker can only be switched on again by charging it on the wireless charging pad.

Additional mode settings

Some modes may request a further choice when choosing the mode – for setting of time interval. Tappingthelineofthespecifictimeintervalconfirmsthe choice and sends the command.

Pressing CANCEL closes this option without saving any changes.

Display of data

Before it is possible to display the GPS locations of the device in the TICK tracker application (or in the web platform) it is essential that the device has sent these GPS locations.

For sending GPS locations it is necessary to have aGPRSsignalandsufficientbatterycapacity (i.e.charged battery).

2.5 HistoryAccess to the HISTORY menu is available after swi-ping across the Asset tile.

A new window will open. In this window it is possible to load all available data, representing trips and/or GPS positions located during a particular day. The default day is the current day.

To load data for another day, tap the SELECT DAY line (with the date).

A new window will appear. The look of it may slightly differ, according to the particular device’s operating system, used colour scheme etc.

Select thedatewantedandconfirm thechoicebytapping SET (Android) or OK (iOS).

After date selection the application retrieves data via the internet connection. If no data is available, a simple NO DATA warning will appear.

If at least 1 GPS position is found, the window shows all available trips and positions.

Every tile in the History window represents one trip. Tap on the specific tile and a new window opens. ThisshowsthespecificrouteofthechosenAssetona map background (see section 2.5.1.).

Through the Quick choice (swiping leftwards across the row) it is possible to display the chosen trip on the map or display detailed information about the trip (see section 2.5.2.).

Tapping the last row in the list – SHOW ALL LOCATIONS – opens a map with all GPS positions recorded on that particular day.

2.5.1 Displaying history on the mapTheflagiconsshowthestart(green)andfinish(red)positions.

By clicking on any point on the colour highlighted route, details information on time and speed in a given location are shown.

The question mark icon (top right) opens the expla-nation of the colour coding of the trip.

2.5.2 Displaying trip details

By swiping leftwards across the row and tapping on the grey box DETAIL (with an “eye” icon) detailed information of the chosen trip is displayed.

2.6 Charts

Two charts can be shown for all Assets:

1. Chart of battery charge level 2. Chart of internal temperature

The chart type can be switched in the window CHART TYPE. The choice is confirmedbytapping OK.

All charts use the current day as their default setting. The period can be extended to the last week or last 2 weeks. The period is switched in the window “pe-riod”.ThechoiceisconfirmedbypressingOK.Thechart can be operated using the slider over the dis-played surface of the chart. Operating the chart:

a) The rings at each end of the blue strip can be shif-ted right and left regulating the time period for details

b) Tapping the blue strip and dragging this allows the whole chart to be shifted forwards or backwards

c) Tapping or tapping and dragging onto the chart displays detailed values at the chosen axis / axes x and y, including the date and time when the value was recorded

d) Under the chart there is a legend where it is possi-ble, by tapping on the name of the axis, to switch off thedisplayofspecificlinesonthechart

e) The chart can also be displayed in the landscape display mode if the device supports this – this impro-ves the legibility of the chart

2.6.1 Chart of battery chargeAll GPS devices that are powered by their own battery source (back-up battery) display the remai-ning % of battery capacity (charge). For better ove-rall remaining battery charge level estimation, use longer time periods on the chart period options.

Any time more precise information is needed, tap the area inside the chart. The relevant x and y-axis values will be displayed immediately.

Data moves between 0 to 100 %, depending on the remaining battery charge level. When a view con-tains less than 50 individual values, a dotted chart line appears.

2.6.2 Chart of internal temperatureEvery GPS device has an in-built temperature sen-sor. These internal temperature measurements indi-cate the temperature inside the housing of the GPS deviceandareinfluencedbyfactorsinthesurroun-ding environment.

Please note:

The loading and display of large amounts of mea-sured values on charts may take up to 30 seconds.

It is recommended to use short chart display periods (week, few days) on older and lower performance mobile devices only.

3. MAIN MENUPressing the icon in the top left corner of the Assets list opens the Main application menu.

In this option, it is possible to:

• Showthee-manual • Changethenotificationssettings • Changethebasicapplicationsettings • Sendanewmessagetothehelpdesk • Completelylogoutoftheapplication

The HELP option opens the online e-manual for the TICK tracker application.

NOTIFICATIONS SETTINGS – please see section 3.1.

SETTINGS chosen are stored into the memory of the device and so there is no need to set these repeatedly.

Some choices of setting request a numerical value (with the aid of a keyboard).

Thesettingofthetripdisplaymayhaveasignificanteffect on the loading speed and accuracy of the data display. It is not recommended to change the default setting (display of trips longer than 100 metres).

By choosing FEEDBACK it is possible to send an e-mail message with detailed information of the application version and device model directly from thedevice.Usethisoptionfornotificationoferrorsand sending comments about the application. The message is delivered to the helpdesk for further processing.

Choosing the option LOGOUTimmediatelyfinishesthe current session and returns the user back to the login window. The e-mail address of the last registe-red user remains stored in the registration.

When leaving the application without logging out, it remains active and if opened again within 14 days, login is automatic. If more than 14 days have elap-sed, the password will be requested.

It is possible to change this behaviour by choosing the option Remember password (see section 1.2), whereby the application permanently remembers the e-mail and password. Using this option is not re-commendedunlessthemobiledeviceissufficientlysecured against misuse.

3.1 Notifications settingsUnder this option it is possible to open the settings forpushnotificationsfromallGPSdevicesthatareavailableintheaccount.Priortosettingupanotifi-cation,thedevicemustbechosen.Notificationsaresent over the internet. To receive them immediately when the event occurs, you must be online.

After this a new window opens, where a list of avai-lablenotificationseventsisvisible.It ispossibletotoggleanyavailablenotificationtypeonoroff.

Select the Asset you want to set thenotifica-tion for.

TICK devices and the TICK tracker application supp-ort the following notifications: manipulation, move-ment, battery charged, low battery, change of mode. Notificationsareactivatedbyswiping thebuttonattheright-handsideofthechosennotificationfromleftto right.

Examples of the use of notifications:

Movement: If this is switched on it immediately in-forms you when an Asset has moved. Manipulation: If you want to monitor unauthorized manipulation (removal of tracker from Asset). This is only available for TICK trackers with magnets.

Ifyouhaveswitchedonarequestfornotificationinthecaseofaspecificeventandthiseventoccurs,acorrespondingpushnotificationwillappearonAn-droid / iOS systems.

Ifyouhavemissedanynotifications,itispossibletoview these on the application by tapping on the icon

on the main display.

This brings up a list of events from the present time to the past.

Some notifications includemore than 1 alert, e.g.“Manipulation” sets the event notification for bothpossible alerts:• Manipulationdetected• Manipulationstopped

Whenanewpushnotification is received,aTICKtracker application icon inside the status bar of the device is displayed.

Please note:

Allnotificationswithin theTICK trackerapplicationare delivered as “push” messages to the logged account only. Whenever you wish to stop receiving them, you can do this in 2 ways: 1. Log out of the TICK tracker application and confirmthelogoutaction,2.Permanentlyturnnotificationsoffthroughtheweb application (www.namsystem.net/v2) or through TICK tracker application in Main menu by setting inNotificationssettings.

Whilethesecondmethodstopsdeliveryofnotificati-onscompletely,thefirstonlydelaysthedeliveryuntilthe user logs into the TICK tracker application again.

Notifications can be managed any time from anyTICK tracker application which uses the same login details (account).
