1. Introduction

Merchant pay On-boarding is a mobile application that can be used by existing customers of bank to on-boarding as Merchants. The application is compatible for Android Smartphones and tablets that can support fingerprint scanners. Services available on Merchant pay on-boarding application are as follows. Merchant Registration – New users can register themselves as Merchants in a Bank.

1.1 Scope of the Document

This document is a self-help manual for the Merchants who wishes to use Merchant pay on-boarding Application. This document explains how to register as a Merchant in a bank.

1.2 Prerequisites

Android Smartphone or tablet having minimum specifications laid down for Merchant pay on-boarding Application.

Android Mobile with USB Host support.

USB Finger-Print Scanner (In the empanelled list of scanners tested with application).

Working internet connection.

Merchant with valid Aadhaar number seeded with his Bank Account.

1.3 How to access on-boarding application

This section depicts how Merchants can access Merchant pay on-boarding application.

1.3.1 Downloading the App

Merchant pay on-boarding app can be downloaded from a common portal (like Google play store or bank site).

Once application is downloaded, Merchant pay on-boarding application can be installed.

Once application is installed successfully, Merchant pay on-boarding application will be available in his/her Smartphone.

1.4 Getting started with on-boarding

1.4.1 New User- How to On-boarding

As a first time user of Merchant pay on-boarding, merchants will have to complete the

on-boarding process .Following are the steps to be followed by the users for On Boarding

and Registration.

Step 1: Click on the Merchant Pay on-boarding application icon on your Smartphone to

launch the application.

Step 2: Enter your mobile number.

Step 3: Click on Proceed button.

Step 5: Enter the OTP number which you have received as SMS on the mobile number. In

case of you don't receive an OTP; you can regenerate it by clicking on regenerate OTP. Enter

the name of the device under the text-box ‘Enter the nick name of device’.

Step 6: Click on the Proceed button, OTP will be validated .Once OTP verification is

successful, it will navigate to Merchant registration screen.

Step 7: Enter your valid Aadhaar number or scan the Aadhaar QR code for populating

Aadhaar Number. To scan from QR code, focus the rear Smartphone or tablet Camera over

the QR code available on the Aadhaar Card till Aadhaar Number is pre-populated.

Step 8: Click on Proceed button, to navigate to fingerprint capture screen.

Step 9: Place your finger on the attached USB scanner .Once fingerprint authentication is

successful, list of accounts linked to your Aadhaar number will be displayed.

Step 10: Please select the preferred bank account from the listed accounts.

Step 11: Click on the Proceed button to navigate to additional details screen.

Step 12: Enter your shop name and shop address.

Step 13: Click on the Proceed button to submit your request.

Step 14: Application displays a confirmation message “Your registration request has been

submitted successfully” along with a merchant ID. Confirmation message will be sent to your

registered mobile number.

1.7 How to Install

To install Merchant Pay onboarding application on the mobile , open any browser(native,

chrome, firefox etc) and enter the link from where the bank specific Merchant Pay

Onboarding application can be downloaded.

After downloading apk, go to file manager and click on apk from download folder.(default it

is download folder).

It will show list of permissions used in the app.Click on 'NEXT' and then 'INSTALL' to install

apk in mobile. After installing, click 'OPEN' to open Application.

After installing, Merchant Onboarding application will be visible in home page as shown

below.

1.8 How to Uninstall

Long press on the Merchant Onboarding application icon on the mobile. The device will

show uninstall option. Drag and drop the Merchant Pay Onboarding application in uninstall

option. A dialog will be displayed prompting to uninstall the application .Click OK ,the

application will get uninstalled.

1.9 How to upgrade Application version

If the application version is expired , when application is launched,it will show a pop up that

Application version is expired with “UPDATE” and “CANCEL” buttons.

Click on 'UPDATE' button, the application will redirect to the link from where the application

can be upgraded to latest version .

If the user click on 'CANCEL' option ,the application will close.

If the application version is going to expire, while launching the application ,it will show a

pop up that Application version is going to expire with “UPDATE” and “UPDATE LATER”

buttons. Click on 'UPDATE' button, the application will redirect to the link from where the

application can be upgraded to latest version.

If update has to be skipped , click on 'UPDATE LATER' button. The application will then

proceed with the current version itself.
