Using spelling and grammar checkers on Ginger Pages.
Here, I have typed the sentence
“what are you going to learn?” with
several misspellings.
You will see that the mistakes have
been highlighted in blue. This
happens automatically.
The corresponding suggestions
appear at the top of the keyboard.
Simply click on these to change
the words.
You will also notice that it has not
corrected the word ‘learn’. It will
pick this up in context once you
have corrected the rest of the
sentence. (see on next page)
As you can see, now that the app
recognises the sentence, it has
changed it’s suggestion to ‘learn’.
You can now click on this and
complete the sentence.
The app also gives the option to
suggest sentence structures.
Click on the icon in the top left
hand corner of the menu bar.
It will highlight the sentence and
then give you several options
down the bottom of the screen.
Choose a sentence and click on it
to insert it.
Then click ‘Done’.
If you don’t want to choose any of
them, just click on ‘done’.
Speaks the sentence(s) on
screen
Copies all text on screen.
You could then paste it
into another programme
on the Ipad.
Clears everything on
screen. If you accidently
press this, the app will
offer you an ‘undo’
function. You could also
block this button if using
the app in Guided
Access (this can be
switched on in Settings).
To launch the main menu, click on
the icon.
You will see the menu pictured.
There are quite a few different
areas to explore but you most
likely wont need to access this
menu for general use.
The most handy sections would be
‘quick tour’, ‘tutorials’ and
‘settings’.
You may wish to explore the other
sections and see if any of them
would be helpful.
