Week 10: Border Part 4

Border Round 15 (MC)Sl st into the next ch-1 sp. Ch 3 (counts as hdc + ch-1 sp), hdc in the same ch-1 sp. This is your first corner made.

*Skip the first (hidden) st. (Hdc in the next 5 sts, hdc in the next ch-1 sp) 22 times. Hdc in the last 6 sts. (Hdc, ch 1, hdc) in the next ch-1 corner sp.*

Repeat from * to * 5 more times, omitting the last corner on the last repeat. Join to the second ch of the beg ch-3 with a sl st. Fasten off and work away your ends.

Stitch Count Per Side: 140 hdc (not including ch-1 corner sps)

Border Round 16 (CC4)The 5-dc groups in this round should fall in the hdc from Round 15 that falls in the last dc of a 3-dc group from Round 14.

Join CC4 by making a standing sc in any ch-1 corner sp. (Ch 2, sc) in the same ch-1 corner sp. This is your first corner made.

*Skip the first (hidden) st. (Sc in the next 7 sts. Skip the next 2 sts, make 5 dc in the next st, skip the next 2 sts) 11 times. Sc in the last 7 sts. (Sc, ch 2, sc) in the next ch-1 corner sp.*

Repeat from * to * 5 more times, omitting the last corner on the last repeat. Join to the first sc with a sl st. Fasten off and work away your ends.

Stitch Count Per Side: 86 sc and 55 dc (not including ch-2 corner sps)

Border Round 17 (CC2)Join CC2 by making a standing tr in any ch-2 corner sp. (Ch 1, tr) 4 times into the same ch-2 corner sp. This Scallop is your first corner made.

*Skip the first 3 sts, the first one of which will be hidden. (Sc in the next st. [Sc, ch 3, sc] in the next st. Sc in the next st. Skip the next 2 sts, which should be the last 2 sc before the next 5-dc group. [Make 2 dc in the next st] twice. [2 tr, ch 1, 2 tr] in the next st. [Make 2 dc in the next st] twice. Skip the next 2 sts) 11 times.

Sc in the next st. [Sc, ch 3, sc] in the next st. Sc in the next st. Skip the last 3 sts. (Tr, ch 1) 4 times into the next ch-2 corner sp. Tr in the same sp to complete the Scallop.*

Repeat from * to * 5 more times, omitting the last corner on the last repeat. Join to the first tr with a sl st. Fasten off and work away your ends.

Stitch Count Per Side: 48 sc, 88 dc, 44 tr, 11 ch-1 sps, and 12 ch-3 sps (not including corner Scallops, which will consist of 5 tr and 4 ch-1 sps)

Border Round 18 (CC6)You will be marking 24 stitches with a SM in this round (see Important Note below). Also, this round will wobble a bit.

When making a BPsc around the (sc, ch 3, sc) from the previous round, insert your hook from back to front around the post of the first sc, then insert your hook from front to back around the post of the second sc and complete a BPsc as normal. In other words, you will be making ONE BPsc around TWO posts.

Join CC6 by making a standing BPsc around the post of the first tr of any corner Scallop from the previous round. (Ch 1, BPsc around the next tr) 4 times. This is your first corner made.

*Ch 2. (Skip the next sc. Make a BPsc around the [sc, ch 3, sc] from the previous round. Ch 1 and skip the next sc. Sc in the next 6 sts. [Hdc, ch 1, hdc] in the next ch-1 sp. Sc in the next 6 sts, the first of which will be hidden. Ch 1) 11 times. Skip the next sc. Make a BPsc around the last [sc, ch 3, sc] from the previous round. Ch 2 and skip the last sc. (BPsc around the next tr, ch 1) 4 times. BPsc around the last tr.*

Repeat from * to * 5 more times, omitting the last corner on the last repeat. Join to the first BPsc with a sl st. Fasten off and work away your ends.

Stitch Count Per Side: 132 sc, 12 BPsc, 22 hdc, 33 ch-1 sps, and 2 ch-2 sps (not including corner sts, which will consist of 5 BPsc and 4 ch-1 sps)

Important NoteBefore you go on, please mark the following sts/sps on EACH side with a SM: • Locate the first ch-2 sp after a corner Scallop and place a SM in the next ch-1 sp. • Skip the next sc and place a SM in the next sc. • Locate the last ch-2 sp before a corner Scallop and place a SM in the ch-1 sp directly before it. • Place a SM in the second-to-last sc before this ch-1 sp.
