O ur inspiration for Elementary

came from one of our most popular fabric lines. We frequently get e-mails asking when we are coming out with a second version of our first fabric line for Moda, Authentic. We generally don’t like to repeat a collection using the exact same colors, so we thought we would do something similar to Authentic but change it up a bit. We kept the black, cream and tan, but replaced the lime green in the original collection with our new favorite color- a beautiful light blue. We love the result and think it compliments Authentic beautifully. The theme is very school-like, but not too juvenile. We love it for all different kinds of projects, especially those for boys. The Rugby pattern is perfect for

either a baby quilt or gradua-tion quilt- just use the year of the big event for the applique. We think the Picnic Plaid pattern may be our favorite. It is de-signed to make the finished quilt look like a gingham pattern. We hope you enjoy sewing with Elementary as much as we enjoyed designing it!
