OUR KAMPUNG.OUR PRIDE AND JOY.

In 2015, Jalan Besar Town Council launched our 5-Year Master Plan for 2016-2020, titled ‘My Kampung in the City’.We promised to upgrade and uplift our

Town, to build a community that is clean and green, healthy and well-connected, accessible and lively for all residents.

We have seen much progress and growth over the five years. More than 200 projects implemented by our Town Council and various government agencies have come to fruition, including town improvement works, new MRT stations and new housing estates.

As you flip through the pages of this commemorative book, we hope it will be a pleasant reminder of how our kampung has been transformed into a wonderful place to live, work and play.

ஜாலான் பெசார் நகர மன்்றம், 2016 முதல் 2020 வரரக்குமான நமது ஐநதாண்டுகாலப் பெருநததிட்டதரத 2015ல் பதா்டஙகதி ரவததது. “நகரில் என் கம்்ொங” என்ெது அதததிட்டதததின் தரலப்பு.

தூயரமயான, ெசுரமயான, ஆ்ராக்கதியமான, நன்கு இரைக்கப்ெட்ட, எளிததில் அர்டயததக்க, அரனவருக்கும் உறசாகமளிக்கும் ஒரு சமூகதரத உருவாக்குவதறகாக, நம் நகரரச் சீரரமதது ்மம்ெடுததப் ்ொவதாக நாஙகள் வாக்குறுததி அளித்தாம்.

க்டநத ஐநது ஆண்டுகளில் நாம் பெருமளவு முன்்னற்றதரதயும் வளர்ச்சசிரயயும் ொர்தததிருக்கதி்்றாம். நமது நகர மன்்றமும் ெல்்வறு அரசாஙக அரமப்புகளும் அமலாக்கதிய 200க்கும் ்மலான ததிட்டப்ெைிகள் நதிர்றவர்டநதுள்ளன. நகர ்மம்ொடடுப் ெைிகள், புததிய பெருவிரரவு ரயில் நதிரலயஙகள், புததிய வீ்டரமப்புப் ்ெடர்டகள் ஆகதியன அவறறுள் அ்டஙகும்.

இநத நதிரனவு நூலின் ெக்கஙகரள நீஙகள் புரடடிப் ொர்க்ரகயில், நமது கம்்ொங வாழவதறகும், ்வரல பசயவதறகும், பொழுது ்ொக்குவதறகும் உகநத அருரமயான இ்டமாக எவவாறு உருமா்றசியிருக்கதி்றது என்ெரதக் கண்டு மனம் மகதிழவீர்கள் என நம்புகதி்்றாம்.

2015年，惹兰勿刹市镇理事会推出了2016年至2020年的五年发展蓝图——“我的城市甘榜”。

我们承诺改善和提升市镇，为所有居民打造一个干净绿化、安全健康、四通八达、交通便利和充满活力的社区。

过去五年，我们取得了很大的进展。市镇会和各个政府机构实施了超过200个项目，包括市镇改进工程、新地铁站和新住宅区。

当您翻阅这本特刊时，我们希望它能唤起您的美好回忆，重温我们的甘榜如何发展成为大家生活、工作和玩乐的美好家园。

Kampung kami. Kebanggaan dan kegembiraan kami.

Pada 2015, Majlis Bandaran Jalan Besar melancarkan Pelan Induk 5 Tahun bagi 2016 hingga 2020, berjudul ‘Kampung Saya di Kota’.

Kami telah berjanji untuk menaik taraf dan meningkatkan Bandar kita, untuk membina masyarakat yang bersih dan menghijau, sihat dan dihubungkan dengan baik, mudah diakses dan meriah untuk semua penduduk.

Kami telah melihat banyak kemajuan dan pertumbuhan selama lima tahun. Lebih 200 projek yang dilaksanakan oleh Majlis Bandaran dan pelbagai agensi pemerintah telah berjaya dijalankan, termasuk kerja-kerja menaik taraf bandar, stesen MRT baru dan estet perumahan baru.

Sedang anda membelek halaman buku peringatan ini, kami berharap ia akan menjadi kenangan manis tentang bagaimana kampung kita telah berubah untuk menjadi tempat yang indah untuk didiami, bekerja dan beriadah.

Iam delighted to note that family ties are stronger than ever among residents of Kolam Ayer. Whenever we have town gatherings and events, there is invariably a strong turnout by families that comprise three generations. This is a very good sign that, in spite of how Singapore is becoming increasingly diverse and exposed to the world, we are still united in our values. Thanks to your support, our elderly now enjoy greater accessibility and mobility, and we have more spaces that bring different age groups together. We also hope to make community art accessible, so that more residents can come together to appreciate the finer things in life. Let’s continue to work together to uphold Kolam Ayer’s strong community spirit.

It has been my privilege to be of service to you in Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng. Those who have worked with me will know that I have a soft spot for the seniors and young among us. We all have a responsibility to care for our older generations and, with your support, we now offer free annual health screenings for the seniors. Children are our future, and through the Catch Plus programme, we are able to provide mentoring, lunch and tea, tuition and outings for those from low-income families.
