[2010] Tegen Update ONE YEAR AGO THE TWO OF US WERE STANDING ON A REMOTE ISLAND OFF THE COAST OF HAITI. THIS DECEMBER FINDS US SURROUNDED BY SNOW, NOW A FAMILY OF THREE. In 2010 we welcomed a little blue-eyed boy on Easter morning as God gave us a speedy delivery and healthy baby. We adjusted to sleepless nights and figured out how to take care of an innocent, helpless little human. In the process, we’ve learned so much about God loving us as a Father and have been astonished anew that Jesus came as a helpless baby. Because babies are helpless! While we’ve held and loved Levi with a brand new, sweetly unconditional love, we’ve ached for children with no family. When the opportunity came to work on behalf of orphaned children, we accepted after sensing God say it is time to speak up and do something. Caroline’s Promise is an organization that started in North Carolina to speak up for orphans . The North Carolina and South Carolina chapters award grants to adoptive families, raise awareness of the 140 million+ orphans in need of care, and care for children in Guatemala, Guyana and locally. With that decision made, we shared publicly last month the story God has been unfolding for us concerning (continued below...) (CONTINUED...)adoption. While we hope to and anticipate adopting more than one child, we believe the Lord has revealed that a little girl from India is waiting for us. You can read the whole story at our blog. Until then we pray about direction for other children.

Finally, we have just completed our 7th semester at Southern Wesleyan. We feel affirmed we are exactly where we should be and find so much purpose in our role here. With that said we easily see our work continuing here for another year.

We hope 2010 was rewarding for you, that your Christmas was filled with the joy of Jesus, and that your new year holds many wonderful surprises. Our love to you until we see you again.
