Admission Procedure : 1) The applications can be downloaded from the official university website
www.universityofcalicut.info. 2) The prospectus and details of fee to be remitted at the time of admission
and how to apply can be had from the website. 3) Spot admission at School of Distance Education from
August 17 to September 30 on all working days. Candidates should come with filled in application, fee
receipts, and all original certificates and get admitted. The certificates will be returned on the spot. Spot
admission fee:Rs.50/- (to be remitted by chalan)

PROLOGUE
The University of Calicut, established in 1968, the second University to be set up inKerala was opened as a part of the affirmative policy of the government in response to thechallenges offered by the geo-political unit of Malabar. It aimed to bring higher educationwithin the purview of one and all.
At present the University has 29 post graduate departments and 281 affiliated collegesand is the largest residential cum affiliating University in Kerala. It has slowly but steadilybranched out and now has extension centres at Thrissur, Calicut, Lakshadweep andVatakara.
