I concur with the Regional Site Project Officer'• reoc:..~endation, that the coo~rative agree•ent ahould be uended to end on Deceaber u. 1183.

The a.enda..nt ahould also incorporate the new achedule aubllitted by the State with their request. Therefore, please replace the •work DiagrM• that ia currently in the Cooperative Agree•ent with the attached, revised •work Diagram• (attactuaent 1). Alao, pleaae aodify the •work Plan• that ie on the page following the •work Diagram• to indicate that the •aurt by• date on ite!la A-3 through A-7 and itea A-9 ia nov 1 July 1983, and that the •completion by• date for thoae iteraa and iteaa 10, 11, and 12 h now 31 December 1983. Theae changea are baaed on the revised achedule aubnitted to Mr. MerrU Hohman by Thoaaa E. Wright in a letter dated March 2, 1983. Pleaae include the attached correspondence (Attachllent 2) in the Gnnt file. It explain• the need for thia uendaent in greater detail.

Rhode Illand OEM has had difficulties in obtaining accen to tne 81te and has been unable to beain remedial activitiee to date . However, it appean a March stBrt date may be po..ible .

I rec~nd that the cooper~ive agreement be extended from March 22, 198 3 to December 31, 198 3 vi th no increase in funds. An updated •chedu1e of ·remedial activities will be forwarded
